Hey, I'm using MOOClick for a new game of mine & I wanted to know if there was I way I can track PING & Packet Loss to help make sure the game can support alot of people & make sure that its not extremly laggy. Basicly so that I can use it to debug the game & tweak it as I make it, so that I can make sure that every turn I make is for a better in Ping. That way I dont have to keep asking friends to come in & help me test the game's lag.
Is this possable, expecially without a dedicated serverside or program?
send a message, then count how long it takes to get a reply. Voila, ping.

it's not a very viable test though because ping is dependant on many many things besides the application. you'd still need to get your friends to test it too.
Basicly what I'm looking to add in is, if anyone has ever played online games where you go to the server list & it show's how much Ping is currently on the server, or if you play or played PlanetSide & notice the fact that there is a little counter that has PING, LOSS, & FPS, thats basicly what I want to add into the game.
Any idea's? Its starting to get a little hard to ask my friend to instently say something right after I send a message, so that we can see how long it takes before they get the message.
I'm going to take a shot in the dark here when I say, I'm taking it having an automatic ping tracketr is NOT able to be made in MMF, because I already know I can do that, I'm asking if I can make it automaticly track the PING.
