I don't want to make a moving avatar, but i could blow up mine to 1024x768 and make it a 16million colour bitmap.
I just tried it out and it went from under 1k to 2.25 mb lol

No they won't, you fucking idiot. Large animated gifs can be irritating on dialup, but nothing the size of an avatar will be more than a mild annoyance unless it's deliberately large.

What do you mean what kind of internet are you using. You mixed up a provider with a browser. Earthlink, AOL, PeoplePC, Verizon, Comcast, they are all providers. Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera, they are all browsers. Anyway, continue.
I've tryed arguing with people at school that Internet Explorer DOES NOT CONNECT YOU TO THE INTERNET! People come in because they can't connect at home. They connect a phone line and open IE. Then I ask if they installed AOL or something and they say no because they use IE to go on the internet.

I have dial-up and the avatars load just fine.
