Are there many people here who get easily offended? This is really just a general discussion about how easily offended people are and what offends them. I don't think anything can offend me and people who do get easily offended I detest with a passion.
When I say this, they have the right to be offended if it's do with race/religion/physique but when they get offended for something that has nothing to do with them, say for example BBC says the word fuck before 8pm or this post for example then in my opinion they should goto hell. When Live8 got all those complaints I just felt like hurting people. If Madonna and Snoop Dogg shouted out "I hate obese black Muslims" then okay complain away. But they said "London are you fucking ready?" and "Fuck" are few times and like OMG alert the complaint office! Today, I was talking to an old lady and I muttered the word fuck when I dropped my pen whilst going through a salespitch. She told the manager that I offended her yet she didn't react to what I said in front of me.
So are you one who gets easily offended or are you laid back like me and just do not care if a penis related joke is said on a children's show?
I also want to hear from Jimmi who I know will get offended by this and the word "fuck."
Btw, I'm tired and I realize I repeat the word offended like a gizillion times but I can't be assed to change the words to keep a coherent amount of words without repeating myself.
Yeah those people are really dumb. I mean, my friend's mom is offended by the word mofia, because she's italian. It's not like I'm saying all Italians are dumb or anything; Italy rocks.
I don't get easily offended, much like you. I'm mostly only offended by things directed directly at me. Regarding things like saying fuck before 8 pm in TV: I don't get offended by it but i still don't think it's appropriate. Children mimic things by nature, so if they hear the word fuck, they might say it a lot without even knowing what it means. And i'm against that. Just like in video stores i think it's wrong for pr0n to be on low shelves, but i don't get offended by it. I might still ask the store to reconsider their placement policy or whatever it's called.
But yes, in general i think people get offended too easily. I've often considered making a game where you control Satan and kill Angels, just to see if people would be offended

The people who get offended more easily are often n00bs, or Digital Dreams. It's a fact.
Getting offended by things is fine. Thinking your opinion matters is not. It's the people that feel the need to let everyone know how offended they are that absolutely fucking suck. Feminists, christians, and fat girls especially.
Very few things offend me.

Any bigotry that's not meant in an ironic fashion offends me. Luckily I can differentiate fairly well. Trivial stuff like swearing I revel in -- if you're offended by that sort of thing, you're an idiot as far as I'm concerned. We were talking about swearing in English Language once and the teacher asked us to refrain from saying the dreaded words themselves. God forbid an English language teacher who couldn't bear to hear the language being spoken.
Interesting you say that about swearing at work, Broomie. I've developed a habit of swearing over very trivial things like dropping pens. Thankfully no-one has complained, I try to keep it on the tip of my tongue with the old people cos they love complaining. Most people under 35 don't seem to have a problem.
Oh my, this thread is a lesson in self referential absurdity...
Radix mainly,
"It's the people that feel the need to let everyone know how offended they are that absolutely fucking suck."
Wow dude, you’re getting offended by those who get a offended! You say that those who get offended are stupid and such but, If you don't get offended by things then why are you bashing those people!
Yea, this whole thread is retarded and self contradictory.
I'm feeling a bit wella

LIJI is easily offended by Noodle, apparently... And he doesn't know when to stop either. Really, LIJI.
I think people are right to get offended at some things. When someone goes on a crusade to ban a slightly violent DC game it's annoying (remember "Bloody Massacre"?) but if you go out of the way to offend people and then complain about them being offended you're just plain rude.
I hardly get offended, there are certain things that tick me off, but even if they do so, I do not show it...specially in this forum, unless it comes from friends from 'real life' I'll let them know they pissed me off. Although, I have yet to feel offended by anyone in this forum...Someone I think called me a fag, and I was like...so?
Interesting topic, I agree with Broomie when it comes to people who get offended about swearing and stuff, especially when they don't have a clue what they are talking about, like christians moaning about sex in videogames.
I don't think I ever got offended in real life so far, tho I learned how to act offended while teaching. Getting offended on the internet on the other hand is a lot of fun, especially when other people do so. Like some hillbilly I was talking with in a forum topic about Neil Youngs new anti-bush album:
"(YOUR REAL NAME IS HAYO VAN REEK-AND I GOTTA TELL YA, THAT TRANSLATES HERE IN AMERICA TO "HAYO I STINK"-THAT'S A FACT JACK, ASK YOUR COMMIE LIB BUDDIES, THEY WILL EVEN AGREE) VAN REEK? HEY, DO YOU KNOW WHERE THAT MISSING TEEN, NATELEE HALLOWAY IS?)
bUT IS DOESN'T REALLY MATTER ANYWAY KNOW WHY? CUSE YOU LAY LIBERAL FUCKS want US TO LOSE THE WAR SO YOU CAN'T GAIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE AND THEN WE CAN LIVE IN PEACE AND PLANT FLOWERS AND HAVE ALL THAT CRAZY CRAP YOU LONG FOR."
(and I didn't edit that)
btw I do realise I got offended a few times in my fishhead3 days. That was stupid, I am ashamed of it and I know better now. Next I will teach myself not to bash n00bs.
Then I get frustrated. Because deep down you know all the answers to the thread will back him up. Because it's Total Klik. Because they think they're funny. Because I wonder exactly what I've done wrong now - and usually I don't do anything wrong.
My theory: These types of people simply post about me in order to drum up visitors to Total Klik - to try and make things more interesting. Funnily enough, most of the insults occur at Total Klik, as a rule, and are probably done to try and curry favour with "THE Podunkian" and the like - to try and be accepted.
Just like in real life, the community at Total Klik is effectively a gang. Singling out prolific and relatively successful members of the community (such as myself, Novabrain, Rikus, etc). And those people in gangs pick on and attempt to bully, to fit in with their "buddies".
But I'm not going to be broken. No, I'm content with the fact that people wouldn't have the guts, if they ever meet me, to insult me to my face. Proof? All of the Click Conventions I've been to. Undoubtedly there were people who might not have liked me or insulted me on message boards - but not one dared to challenge me. It portrays certain community members in a cowardly light, who hide behind their computer monitors - and even more laughably - deliberately sign up for hosts with dynamic IPs, so they can be as abusive as they want to. I challenge anyone to insult me if they ever saw me in real life - if they did, I would respect them for not hiding away behind their little computer monitors, in their dingy bedrooms, in their secluded lives. Otherwise, for all those wanting to hide away, you're all sad little cowards.
From what I've seen, the people at TK are indeed bullies and I dislike how they pick on you, but in your reactions to them I think you're coming off as extremely cocky, and you're just going to encourage them to keep on singling you out.
Rather than saying how cowardly they are, just know that you've done a lot for the Click community and this site in particular - "challenging people to insult you" isn't going to solve it, because they're going to keep on trying. Keeping a level head and ignoring this abuse is, I think, the only way that it's going to be stopped.
Circy, I haven't been to TK, and haven't had the interest to, but David Newt is right. People feed off that kind of stuff, they won't grow tired of it because they enjoy and feed off your reactions..period. That's what kids do...and that's how they will always be. You need to be the better one of the bunch and ignore their immaturity and mentality.
And the fact that you are on the other side of the world, talking through the internet, makes it alot easier to piss you off because they can say what ever they want and they wont get fucked up for it. The most they have to lose is their account, and rarely is that ever a loss.
I wouldn't say "TK is bashing Circy" as it's actually a nice community site apart from the couple of losers who are bashing Circy. And those people are just scared of growing up, so they keep doing stuff they did in 2002, it's best to ingore them or play games with them. They don't quite take me serious as well, but I don't give a fuck, if you would meet any of those guys in real life you would laugh your ass off.
Be careful, Phizzy. If you look into Circy's eyes you'll turn to stone.

People need to learn that the world is the way it is and it's not going to change for them so if they get offended they shouldn't say anything and just eithre leave or forget about what they did/said that offended you.

people who are offended by stuff should suck it up. like i am a christian, but im not like this -
Phizzy says: Fuckin A man, i want to have some sex with a waffle like on Tuesday
Deadguy.jf says: zOMg!111!!1 you said the Uber F''' word!!1 repent
people like that suck.
i find things like that funny.
Christians being hardasses is a very stereotypical thing, but i dont really care, you know? the again, usually stereotypes are real for the most part. in that case im an exception. go with the flow home slice hahaha. not like i hate atheists. atheists are the shit too mansz.
"People need to learn that the world is the way it is and it's not going to change for them so if they get offended they shouldn't say anything and just eithre leave or forget about what they did/said that offended you."
well the world does change, however it is very difficult to change and takes a long time. So really you need to find something good to change rather than being petty and stopping people doing things only because you want them to.
crikey Phizzy, ive got about half as many as you and ive been here about as long. How do you get so many posts in? Because i feel like i post too much sometimes.

Phizzy already started out with a big postcount when he came here, I think. Because remember:
Damn! I must have the smallest of them all!!! Ugh! and Kitty...stop bring up religion on these forums, what's the point!? Go to bible.com or something..or better, go eat one. No one cares if you are christian or not, honestly it makes you look worse, like I lose respect on people like that
I fookin hate humourless cretins (people not dissimilar to LIJI and Lazarus), but am not offended by them. I am offended by bigotry like Pete said, unless it's faux racism and such. I absolutely like stuff like that;
"Look at him, runnin' around, he thinks he's back in Ethiopia bein' chased by a lion".
Swearing is acceptable in most everyday situations, nay essential. Especially loud, inventive swearing like "Titwank". Oh yeah, another thing, try to slip the phrase "Furry muff" in instead of "Fair enough", especially with an authority figure. 10 points go to those that achieve it.
