There are several games with 'ACTUAL' cut scenes. See, there's a section on this site called 'downloads' and you can get all sorts of magical shit from it.
Fine Garbage since 2003.

By actual, I think he is referring to things such as movie files, take for example the large pre-rendered 3D scenes that you often skip every time you play the game after the first initial launch.

I want to add FMVs to my game...but how to do that and not keep my game under 1GB? lol my game is heavy graphicly and I don't know how I will do my cutscenes... I am an animator professionaly and I really want to do sweet FMVs for intro and so forth...but then no one will want to download it, because the file will be rather large...so Maybe i'll do a downloadable version with no FMVs and a CD version....

Lower the framerate, and as done with MYST, only animate the parts that are actually moving in the scene.

it may be possible to import the fmv frame by frame into an active object. It will take a long time and the speed may be off slightly but it will be well compressed when compiled.

What are the options? I mean...even if I do add movie FMVs as cutscenes..people will be able to watch them without playing the game unless I do something...Andy's idea may not be so stupid, what if I embeded the animatiosn through an active maybe, and make a separate application that is called and will only run if the main one is open...hmmmmmm... I don't know, im not even close to start worrying about all that anwyay

Q-Bert(For PC) had this issue. 2 good ways to get around this issue is 1, build it into MMF via project, and 2. Use Blowfish to encrypt the movie, so that only your game with the proper key, can decrypt it, once the game is beaten and the ending is played.

if u're making quality movies , then just leave them alone. This , besides making your game look professional , will let your players just keep on watching those movies as many times as they like. If you have an imp. ending and can't end it without using a movie cut scene then simply encrpyt that one. If i was you , i would have left it alone , completly .. either ways its ur choice
i'll see u soon if you're real serious ( & intrested ) about movies .. maybe i need your help!
