My pc is really f***ed

Windows XP fails to boot. STOP : 0x0000007E error
Will not boot in safe mode.

It always stops on iomega.sys which is a corrupted IOMEGA zip driver.

I can boot it with a bootable floppy. But i need to recover files and it would take years to copy them with just a floppy.

Is there a way i can remove the driver ( i tried renaming the extension but windows exploded).

I would rather keep the windows XP install as ive lost the install disc lol. although I do have a windows 98 CD. Any sugestions?

Remove the hard drive and plug it in to your own PC. That'll let you recover the files. Then format the disk, put it back in the original PC, reinstall windows and get some damn antivirus software.

Pete's idea is the easiest and as far as the Antivirus software goes get AVG (http://free.grisoft.com) it is amazing for free software and also get Ad-aware for your spyware issues (http://www.lavasoft.de) click the Ad-aware se personal edition.

You'll need a boot disk with a CDROM driver on it. Google 'boot disk' and you'll probably find a tonne to choose from.
