I've been working on a game using MMF1.5 for sometime now. I've acquired MMF2 Developer. After transfering it to MMF2, things don't work as well as they did on 1.5. My question is...would you wait until MMF2 is more stable (bug fixes) before porting it to MMF2?
There were a few bugs but most of them have been patched already.
The only reason I can't 'port' to MMF2 is because most of the good extensions haven't been recoded.
So MMF2 is pretty safe with this new patch? I've been workiong on the introduction of the game which is a 3D animation...waiting for the greenlight for MMF2.
Personally I've found that MMF2 crashes a lot less than MMF1.5. There are always going to be little interface issues when you switch over, but they're nothing major. I think that the real bugs are being fixed admirably quickly.
The only thing that might get people now, I think, is the lack of extensions compared to MMF1 - but that's just a matter of time.
TGF never really ported to MMF 1.2 well. Though I never tried porting a TGF game into MMF 1.5. So, I'd say you just wait about 3 months or so and if CT doesn't release a patch for MMF2, just go ahead with porting it.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
The game ported fine actually, some weird things but nothing major happened. But my worries are the big bugs that could make my life hell going on with the game...but I think I'll start on MMF2 now...from what people have been saying, after fix 241 things are better....
