I think 320x240 fits the common monitor ratio better than 320x200.

although i don't know if most people have different ratios on their lcd screens nowadays.
Ive still got a beefy old style monitor.

monitor resolutions are in the ratio 4:3 (width:height)

So basically 320x240 would fit better as 240 is 3/4 of 320, whereas 200 is 5/8 of 320, so it would be out of proportion.

Nobody will ever know why 320x200 was included as default resolution in TGF (and MMF) in the first place...

A lot of DOS games used the 320x200 (and later, 640x480) resolutions. Though I can't think of any specific ones myself. It's slightly less relevant to Windows if you're stretching rather than switching resolution.

320x200 is the CGA resolution.

But, Davince, it's not the monitor so much as the Video Card.

When I first saw this post in the listings I also thought it was asking about how to make graphics in my style.

I think I'll make an article on how to draw 2 pixel border graphics.

You'll find that the early Kirby games had double-pixel outlines on the backdrops.
