Hey i demand that you hold a small competition, like the 24hour one a bunch of months ago.
And i also demand that i win... Okay? Great
No but seriously, just a small competition with some crap prize(DC points or something equally worthless) would be awesome. (Espicially if the prize is an old Volvo car and some salted potatos... Mmm...)
Eh, you get the point.
Anyone else that would be interested in a compo? What theme would you like? Any nice admin that could consider this idea? Or, any user could host this actually... but clickers are greedy fellas, nobody will enter without a fancy prize... not even yo momma.
Objective: Create a game about seaguls.
Prize: A Sandwich.
Okay, you have 24 hours. Begin.
Fine Garbage since 2003.
CURRENT PROJECT:
-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.

A retro themed compo would be damn awesome, maybe a 2-color-game compo? A NES game compo?
Or a compo where you have to make a game about politics and old actors, like a game where you play as Sean Connery trying to get elected as a president... Awesome stuff...

Double post OMG BAN ME! BAN ME FO GAWDS SAKE!!1
Haha awesome theme mr shinybuttons That would be really tight!
It should definetly be a random theme, like seagulls... or mustard-eating priests... or a wolf riding an elevator... or a game about yo momma... or conan o briens hair... or a game where you are making a game! OR: a game, in which you are making a game where you are making a game! Zomg, thats it! *hides*
Id like if everyone came with ideas on the theme and restrictions of a compo, and also if they would enter or not.
I think a retro compo would be neat, actually. Possibly a 48h time limit.
Hopefully, an admin will get interested, i think its time for a new compo, was a long time since the last one(not counting the x-mas one), and that one was even kinda cancelled. Kinda. We all know who would have won. Right? D;
Hah, nice. Over the past few days I've been wanting to enter a MAKE-A-GAME-RLL-RLL-FAST compo.
As for theme, I don't really know what to go with. However, ambience would be a good one.

Yeah come on people, i want a competition, now >.>
I'm working on getting everything together from the Xmas compo; but I promise I'll run some small little compo soon after. Hopefully I can extort ask for some little cheapo prizes from Jeff (Congrats! You've won a non writing Clickteam Pen!).
Make a game in full-screen 320x240 resolution. The catches? The size of the actual frame cannot exceed 320x240 either - meaning no scrolling games. The other catch? No game saves (though passwords are acceptable).
The prize? Lets say... 200 DC points? The judge?
Me!
The deadline? Let's say... Saturday 17th February 2007 at 6pm GMT.

"Make a game in full-screen 320x240 resolution. The catches? The size of the actual frame cannot exceed 320x240 either"
I seem to remember people attempting scrolling in KNP with a 640x480 window size and it worked.

Eh. No Game Saves. That means no save data may be used. No INIs, arrays, anything which creates external files containing data, really. Passwords are acceptable. Scrolling is acceptable too - but only if it's fake, as in the K+P days.
Anyway, up to you if you want to give it a go.

Damn That will make it soo annoying...
Bah, i think ill pass on this one D;
Hey, if you wouldnt mind, cant you atleast show us a new screenshot or something? ^^ Pleeease? D:
I just completed the demo, for like the third time lol, i need more x)
Im also wondering how the heck youve coded the level-system without using any actual scrolling, sounds tricky.
Well my latest project also uses external level-files but im not as leet as you Dx lol
Yarr, I guess I could post a few screens. In a more appropriate thread, of course. (I'm glad you like the game!)
And the non-scrolling tile-based level-system is all thanks to my favorite object of all time, the Text Blitter.
Seriously, that object is awesome. I'd thank Chris Light again if I knew at all how to contact him.
