I think something should be enforced so that new users (2 weeks old?) Cannot vote thumbs up / down for games.

Someone - probably Phizzy's fake account, has gone through and voted thumbs down on all my games ¬_¬ I doubt anyone will bother putting this little system into place but it would sure be nice.

I know it obviously wouldn't SOLVE the problem, but would hinder the process. Just sad that people have to be like that.

I couldn't be bothered to redo this topic - shoulda been *Thumbs System

We've asked Clubby for quite a few features to be added/fixed - obviously he is a busy man and I've offered to help out, but no word on it yet. I'm not sure on your idea though - I think everyone is allowed a valid opinion. It could just be that somebody went through your games and decided that they didn't like them (I know it seems unlikely). I think the best option would be to stop people voting more than once by using multiple accounts (although, pretty impossible to do that, and I know it doesn't solve your actual problem anyway).

The thumbs system is stupid anyway. I think I already posted a topic on that some time ago...

"Just sad that people have to be like that"

I once thought you were pretty cool Boothman, now it seems you've joined the sad club. Lucky for you I'm not going to sink to your level and do the same.

In response to Flava, yeah - forget the thumbs up, but focus on the main initial problem which is people starting fake accounts to begin with I think users should be ASSIGNED their IP address with their username, so they can only log on on THAT machine. If they change ISP etc they should mail an Admin or Editor or whatever.

Then you can stop users having duplicate IP addresses too, like you stop them having the same usernames.

At least something along those lines would be at least half-way through getting there. I think same email addresses for each user is already sorted? I wouldn't know

Yes, good idea Tim, lets cause massive inconvenience to lots of members so that nobody can bad-thumb your game anymore.

Fake accounts is the only good thing about TDC these days.

I agree about the thumbs system btw, hated it since it was introduced. Wtf do we need to thumb DOWN for? It doesn't serve any positive purpose.

Well i say the manin problem is that it's a restricted choice of feedback. What if you play a game and don't utterly hate it or love it to bits?

You can only choose yes or no.

How about if instead of the thumbs system, there is a quick review option where you can give a game a score out of 10 for graphics, sound and gameplay or something?

These rarely change often enough to cause much hassle - I half-covered myself by saying "If they change ISP etc they should mail an Admin or Editor or whatever."

"Yes, good idea Tim, lets cause massive inconvenience to lots of members so that nobody can bad-thumb your game anymore.

Fake accounts is the only good thing about TDC these days."

Noodle, WTF?! What have I done to you for you to be like this, exactly? I can do without the sarcasm too thanks. And s for saying fake accounts is the only good thing about TDC - that pretty much sums your attitude up doesn't it. Do you even play klik games any more? If you had played my games and GENUINELY not liked them - THEN voted thumbs down, then fair enough. But no download counts went up as far as I saw, on any.

And this isn't just so no body can "bad-thumb" my game anymore, it's for

As for the 'not being able to log in from elsewhere' - I say tough! Many sites I've been to (online chat rooms etc) say that if, for example, your brother/sister on another computer using the same IP as you gets banned - then that's your problem and its tough luck. This does ALSO MEAN that I wont be able to log on from college either. But something needs to be done to enforce some degree of justice here. Otherwise we're just aiding the ruin of the community ... and it's got a bad reputation as it is.

If people didn't create fake accounts in the first place then we wouldn't need to enforce any measures to rid of it would we.

And in some respects I agree with you "PeterD" but its a C+C measure more than anything. That's why people should also comment when voting thumbs down, giving their reason. Possibly something that could be implemented to make compulsory.

Anyway, I'll refer you back to the sentence above in bold.

Not a bad idea Andy. I'm toying with the idea of whether it'd be good or not - to see which people voted what on your games... I mean it doesn't really matter if they genuinely didn't like your game for some reason. Whether they get on with you socially is another matter and should be left out of being judged on the quality of peoples' games they spend hours to make - for people at this community to play.

If nobody played the games (linking in from my post above there) then there'd be no point in making them either. And voting thumbs down for the hell of it doesn't do much for the confidence or motivation of the creator. Personally I don't care if some tw@ votes thumbs down for the hell of it on my games - its like cheating in a game of cards. When it all boils down to it - You're the loser.

Look, if you're going to be all sad that someone got all childish and voted thumbs down on all of your games, so be it. But that doesn't mean that we should make it inconvenient for people by assigning IP's. the last three digits of mine seem to change daily.

Ignore the thumbs down you get, I always get five or six without anyone saying what's wrong with it. Hayo's right, the thumbs down just encourage negativity without real criticism.

Now that really pisses me of. You suggest that just cause some jerk gives you thumbs down, then Hayo or me or anyone else posting outside their home shouldn't be able to do so...

Besides, there's a little something called proxy servers Tying accounts to an IP still doesn't stop fake accounts!

It sucks that this is the main portal for klik games etc. There's so much "cliquishness" around here it's pathetic.
