Emotion is just another reason why humans are crap.
We get irrationally attached to objects.
Look at other species of animals, quite a lot of them show very little emotional attachment to things when they die.
Sure, they may 'mourn' as it were (they often show an inquisitive behaviour over the corpse of a dead animal that they have known) but they don't do anything like we do. They don't bury them, or cremate them (yes, I'm aware they can't cremate them, but they could bury them if they chose) they usually just get on with their lives.
Obviously there are some exceptions, and the fact that we don't know what they're psychologically going through after the death, but most experts seem to agree that they don't develop as much emotional attachment as we do.
Yeah, our main strengths (the ability to care and protect) is our weakness too (the inability to care and protect). A perfect human would have no emotion, so thank Allah there's no perfect humans around.
Well, just because some fanatics (most notably the middle easterners who pop up on TV all the time) that doesn't represent the whole religious community. Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey has more peaceful Muslims than most other countries, but nobody talks of them. Why? Because peace doesn't make good news. It's all the more fun to take a small group of people who you don't know fighting against people on your side. The war in Iraq was a perfect example, millions of Iraqis were obviously against it, but every Iraqi on CNN supported it. Of course, if so many of them supported it, why were they throwing rocks, not flowers?
IMHO, religion is overall a good thing, because it forces everyone to be nice or else they'd burn in hell and stuff. Has anyone ever met a truly religious person (not the hypocrites) committing a serious crime? Why is it that there's almost no theft in Saudi Arabia?
Oh, and animals kill and have emotions just like humans. The reason humans bury/cremate is mainly hygenic. If we left bodies all around like animals, we'll there'd be a hell lot more diseases. Animals don't really have that kind of problem as there's not that many compared to humans. But emotions are a good thing too. Sadness discourages loss, anger/fear/hate promotes self-survival, and love/care promotes mutual survival.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.

It doesn't "force" anything; in fact, forcing issues is about the best way to lead to huge problems; as your statement on Iraq seems to support.
Doesn't Saudi still enforce the "get caught stealing and lose your hand" law?
"Well, just because some fanatics (most notably the middle easterners who pop up on TV all the time) that doesn't represent the whole religious community." - no, but it seems like the rest of the Islamic community is doing nothing to counter it. And wasn't there the Bali bombings not long ago? Suggests Indonesia isn't peaceful at all! Malaysia isn't as fanatical as the middle-eastern countries because less than 2/3 of the population is actually Muslim. Turkey is also a secular country, and in my view is the perfect example of a country run by Muslims, and not by Islam.
Laughter is perhaps the best weapon against delusional fanatics =
All religions should be insulted and made fun of as much as possible, since reasoning and pointing out serious flaws in religions obviously doesn't work.
