I need help working out a point and click online engine.
I need to save bandwidth so I figured I could try and create something like Atulos Online uses...

I have a problem... I can't get the character walking in the right direction. Examples would be awesome. Thanks!

_ What's wrong with your avatar? It looks uncomfortable!

Just search and you'll find point and click engines, not online but that woulnd't be too hard to make. And what the hell is your avater doing?

Hmmmm...
I have the point and click down, but unfortunately when I try and get the other players to move, their direction is not right. I don't know how I would fix this.

when sending things like character movement, you can either compare the 2 x values (the on it is currently at, and the one it is moving to) and set the direction accordingly (for a left/right movement, obviously compare the Y positions for Up/Down if you have them facing that way)

i.e X(Old) < X(New) : Direction = Look right
X(Old) > X(New) : Direction = look left

Alternatively you can get the direction the character is facing, and send that along with any movement updates

Hmmmm...
The engine is like a co-op iso point and click adventure so you need to have a full 16 or 32 directions for movement. I do send the direction of the character being played, but sickly, he doesn't move that way he goes some place else.
It is rather sad...
