Is there anyone here who can, or is learning to, write in Japanese? You don't need to be fluent, in fact, I'm only looking for some degree of knowledge of hiragana. Even feel free to post here if you want to learn because I'd be interested to find out.
Haha, I wouldn't say that table is "shit", but it's not the best (first one I found.) Those are the basic characters and it's not hard to learn g, z, d, b and p after that. Thanks for replying
baka means stupid/idiotic. urusai means noisy. gaijin is just a shortened/slang (albeit widely-used) version of gaikokujin which literally means "outside country person". I doubt you'd ever hear that line from a Japanese person, though. Unless you made them listen to ICQ_startup_horn.wav for a week, or something.
A lot of people are interested in Japan, anime, culture, etc. I'm interested to see how many of them are also interested in learning the language.
The Daily Click is probably the last place you should be asking this type of question (I agree with Total Klik's general impression of TDC. This place is full of .. people who aren't that bright). Try looking for some people in the romhacking community or a foreign language forum. You'll get better results there.
I guess for everything else like graphics and such you might be able to find someone around here, but other than that.. yeah.

Thanks for reviving a topic to tell us we're stupid. You probably can go back to TK now, although they don't have a board anymore.

If you spend enough time here you'll get to know a few people who actually do know some stuff.
Thanks for the advice, anyway. This probably wasn't the best place to ask but you never know - a lot of people are into anime/Manga and Japanese culture so I figured that a couple of them would be learning the language too.

Wow, you think Total Klik and it's regular members are bright? TDC may have some n00bs, but it's heaven compared to crap like TK. And why would anyone even be bothered about the opinion of a site like TK anyway?
I'm so tempted to mention something about the TK boards, but I won't
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Also I just realized I horribly misinterpreted this post. why is this in the Solitaire forum? I just realized that this isn't a help request but rather asking if people are studying Japanese (followed by a bunch of people acting in typical n00b fashion spouting out random words in romaji like weaboos, which prompted my earlier post).
Also Nim was my friend back in the k&p days, I don't know why I decided to put a diss on one of his topics, I forgot to read what I was replying to. I guess I just saw a bunch of people acting in an annoying manner and then decided to comment on it.
Also all those replies people made with the stereotypical "gaijin" jokes and speaking in wapanese wasn't necessary. So I was justified in what I said. I don't mean to piss anyone off though.
hah, it's ok. The whole point of this topic is because I was making a kana tutor in MMF. But my girlfriend tested it and found so many bugs that I don't even want to look at it anymore. So that's why it's not in the downloads section right now and I'm idling instead. Just like the #O3 days, haha.
The only forum I used to use in terms of "klik" was TK now it's down. It's kind of weird using the forum that the people on the forum you use always make fun of. I mean, I see one thing that strikes me as stupid and suddenly I bring out the ol' TDC userbase insults, it's like a bad habit.
Anyway, if anyone knows Japanese and not random words you learned from Naruto, please help Nim out. He's a cool guy.
But yeah, you should also check around in the romhacking community maybe. I think you might find some people that can translate a project for you there. And.. well, let's just say I doubt anyone knows Japanese here, for no reason really, just because, I mean not because TDC is stupid, I mean not at all, of coarse not.
It's not translation I need help with, it's testing. I wanted people to be able to tell me if it was helping them learn the symbols - because if not, then I'm wasting my time making it. I may just release a beta version on some beginner Japanese forums.
"...if anyone knows Japanese and not random words you learned from Naruto..."
This made me laugh because there's so much truth in it. Listen to Uncle Gil, kids - don't learn Japanese from Naruto unless you want to sound like a 13 year old girl.

Well, just make sure it isn't an anime forum... they'll probably give the same replies as you see here (or worse). I don't know much Japanese but I do know that romaji is the devil. This guy named Nash used to tell me that back in the k&p days in fact. I think. Maybe.. was it him..? I don't remember.. BUT you get the idea.
Again, I don't know much Japanese but according to Google translator you just said
"It is very much for Johnson."
I don't know who Johnson is, but it sounds like it's very much for him. I apologize to any burden I have placed on this Johnson person (whoever he may be) by posting here. It's not my fault actually, think of it as collateral damage. I didn't mean to do any harm. I think this Johnson person is just being over emotional. He should relax. I think Johnson is over reacting. If this is too much for him, then I can't imagine how the rest of the internet is for him because it's a very harsh world out there, out in the wild web. It's either kill or be killed, you know survival of the fittest and if you don't have what it takes to slam with the best, then you should just go jam with the rest.

Haha, that's horribly wrong. Never use Google Translator.

I know Japanese. I hope you did't mean to make it mean that. That's pretty unappropriate! Everyone probably knows what that means by now anyways so I won't say anything else.
Kanji is essential so we wouldn't confuse ourselves with homonyms (spoken Japanese is too simple).
This is an older topic started back in December 20th 2007. I bet that the original poster can pass all the JLPTs now. By reading his or her posts, the person must be pretty annoyed by some of these dumb posts. I could tell he/she is very motivated in learning Japanese. That Hiragana chart is very helpful, everyone should know those extra syllables because they only have an extra mark on thier top right side from their parent character.
thats cool that you know japanese, does that mean you know how to speak it or write it. p.s.thumbs up for that great pic you done on the oekaki compo!
That there is one damn fine coat your wearin.

No, most people here are quite stupid, I'd imagine most of them just see box characters or question marks.
