I was hoping it was already cancelled before even being aired. The trailer suggests that the bad acting and one line pun's is all it's prepared to feature. Although Christian Bale will be starring in the new Terminator film so I can't say they've completely killed the franchise.
The franchise will be completely ruined by Terminator 4 if James Cameron doesn't direct or if Schwarzenegger doesn't star in it. Arnie is The Terminator .

Holy shit James, turn off the computer right now and get yourself to the video store! (Do they even HAVE video stores anymore??)
Alien 1 is CLASSIC, a real thriller. Alien 3 was... um, okay but not as good as the first or the space marine-fest of #2. Alien 4 was crap.
Every Lethal Weapon is awesome, especially the ones you haven't seen yet!
As for Terminator, it was my favorite movie growing up as a kid. I'd make my Dad get it for me almost every time we rented videos in the mid 80's. Looking back on it now, the only REALLY cheesy effect that gets to me is the whole self-operation scene with the T-100 and his fake, fake, eyeball in that motel room. Other than that, the acting is awesome, especially John Connor's future pops (I forget his name now ). Best of all, the movie's story is incredible. I love that movie still.
T2 mostly improved upon the 1st one, but ramped up basically everything by a factor of 10. The ending scene is actually sad, IMO.
I was fearing that T3 would kill the franchise, seeing as it had been so many years since the second one, but I was pleasantly surprised with a lot of it. Is it the worst of the 3? Yeah, but it's still better than many movies out there. Plus Kristianna Lokken is super LALALALALALAA drool.. (Too bad she bats for the other team, but oh well.) I love how they showed HKs first going online too, that was awesome!!
I've only seen one commerical for the Sarah Connor chronicles, and the effects seem to be pretty good so far. Of course this was for all of a 15 second spot so who knows? As much as I'd be interested to see this new series, I am very afraid that it will kill my beloved franchise.
I also heard that Arnold will be in T4 for about 30 seconds. Maybe the new Terminator will blow up the T-100 factory? Also, where is this one supposed to fall within the timeline, right after T3 and the world war?

I've missed out on loads of classic good stuff. Only saw Aliens, Beverly Hills Cop (all), Die Hard (all) this year.
Deer Hunter and Shindlers List are also on my... list.
That's funny because I finally saw Die Hard 4 a couple of weeks ago and thought it was worse than awful. I'm a big DH fan so it's too bad it went in the toilet so much with part 4. I think it was the scope of the stunts they were trying to do. There's a difference between "big giant incredible stunts" and "a million, this could never happen in a million years stupid stunts". I think by the time he jumped on the jet I had had enough. At least when Arnold did it it was cool, but to have John McClaine do it, it was just retarded.
Another thing, in part 4 they more or less made John McClaine a supporting character to that kid. WTF? He's supposed to be the main star and I felt his role had no weight at all in this movie. It was sort of funny the way he kept beating up that one chick, but still...
