The best click game... Ketchup Kamel 2: What is my Granfathers
Can't really say. I don't think any Click game has survived a while on my HDD. Jetballs the oldest on mine since the guy I coded it with keeps saying he'll show me a mean easter egg that he intentionally left in. That was about 2 years ago I think
I will say that my fave would take the foundations of Knytt Stories and add proper stories (scripted cutscenes) and some combat gameplay. Which doesn't exist.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Knytt , I still go back to it and play it. I beat the whole thing in like 20 minutes the other day.
I also like Gauntlet Runner, but wish there was more to it. I always get to level 10 with almost full lives, then lose all my lives.
I didn't like the first one but I'm smitten with the graphics in the old Ainevoltas 2 screenies. The one like Final Vision but with some colour schemes.
One of my fav things about this game was the use of colours, actually. Especially in the other levels, the use and shade of the vibrant colours is ossum!! If you read this alspal..
You guys will see when it's out now... just waiting on music.
Oh also, those screenshots are full-size, but you can have the window up to 4x enlarged
Just think there's too many of these "epic" platformers coming out at the moment And let's face it- it's gonna be hard to beat the likes of Noitu Love 2 and Tormishire

Knytt wasn't suppose to be extremely entertaining. It was suppose to be an exploration game, and I prefer it to the random "OMG EVERYTHING IS GONNA KILLZ YOU!!! SHOOT EVERYTHING!" games. Not that those aren't fun, but they get boring. Knytt is timeless.
Kind of. Personally I like games that mix adventure with some form of gameplay, best example being Flashback (OMG loves).
I did something like that in Tormi too. There's a bunch of enemies that are asleep or can't even hurt you. So if you kill them then you're going to hell -.- because not everything is going to hurt you just by touching.
To bring up a non-click game: Assassin's Creed!
THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!
I wish I had a PS3 I played it at a friend's house for like 10 hours straight.
I had something else to say, but now all I can think about is how to get a PS3 and Assassin's Creed.

I made "Bill Gates Must Die" in TGF... but it was never released so I guess it doesn't count... but with a name like that you have to consider it anyway
May seem like an odd choice but of all the click games that I've played the one that I most enjoyed was the original Sub Zero Conditions, it was very atmospheric and whilst there wasn't a huge amount of story, the story that was there was good and well presented.
I've never been a fan of platformers, but i did see Eternal Daughter through to the bitter end. I didn't really like it that much though, although the story was immense, the levels were bland and repetetive and the difficulty was just way to much.
I really liked that kitty game that was released a while back apart from I felt that the difficulty ramped up to quickly on the last level.

Megabattle Complete
They're awesome games to play when you have a friend at your house! People are frequently asking me to send these games to them to play, because the links are dead (iansoft.com is down and has been for years.)
@Va1entine: I don't know if I will, I can't force myself to make simple games anymore... But if I did I feel I would need to add shooting or something and a proper level editor...
you know, we get an awful lot of these typed of threads. I think it's a bit unfair to call a game the best since you can only compare with the games you've played.
I doubt everyone had played all click games ever made. In fact i know that to be true since I've made 2 or 3 that i never released (that are crap anyway lol)
so are people talking about the game that they think is the best or the game that is their favourite? From a Logical point of view Best and Favorite aren't the same thing.
i just recently played "i wanna be the guy" and it blew my mind. eternal daughter blew my mind back when it came out. then i can't forget factor x (the best destruction carnival rip off in my opinion). gunner 3, which was awesome and challenging. Furry was pretty amazing. i'm sure there were a million others.

None of them are that great. Astro Dude demo was my favorite and now it's gone.
I don't know, I haven't played many Click games that have REALLY captivated me in a while.
I really liked the presentation of Lyle in Cube Sector and it was a lot of fun. It was an original idea that wasn't boring, a lot of games that are "Well at least it's not more shootan and fightan games" don't seem to find much to do in place of those things, far too many Knytt Stories wannabes. I liked that Lyle had a retro style but wasn't just a copy of another retro game.

Serously, i cannot decide - there are so many games on TDC that i love, like the charming Cliffall, the action-packed Bonesaw, Gungirl its zombie-splatting fun and the polished looking Solar Defence - all great examples of Klik games.
But i remember i made a game about 10 years ago called DeathMatch Arena 2; a very crude and simple looking four-player deathmatch game viewed from above. It had just 2 stages to play on and only one weapon. Despite this though, a friend of mine used to invite me and 2 other guys over to his place every lunchtime at college to play games, and we'd play this two-staged deathmatch game everyday for about 2 months. The sense of achievement i got from making this exceptionally fun and popular multiplayer game was enormous! And to top it all he had an N64 and Goldeneye at his place too, which during this two months never got a look in!
That's why - 10 years later - i am still messing around with the idea of a top-down multiplayer deathmatch game, hence why my project R.P.G. was born! Friends of mine are still surprised at how much fun R.P.G. is, despite the better looking multiplayer games out there like COD4 and Halo 3 - the simplicity is it's appeal!
Personally, I loved That Night Before. Yet overall, I would probably say either Noitu Love 2 or Eternal Daughter. Although I thought Knytt and Knytt Stories was very good too.

Are you kidding me? Yeah, it's got a fairly unique graphical style, but gameplay-wise it's basically a Metroid clone. Don't get me wrong though, I love that game, it's probably my favourite klik game to date.
Also, I'm hesitant to say this out loud, because I'm afraid the rest of the community might lynch me, but am I the only one who doesn't think Noitu Love 2 is the second coming of christ?

Axel, it's doesn't have Metroid gameplay at all. The graphics, and only some of them, look like something you'd see in that game sure, but for the actual gameplay no way. Lyle's all about kicking cubes, lifting and throwing them around and even throwing them straight downwards to get a height boost (brilliant IMO). Lyle has more in common with Super Mario Brothers 2 (US) than Metroid.
Noitu Love 2 was cool, and he obviously put tons of work into it and it's smooth as hell, but I agree with you. I think there maybe is just too many of the same type of those normal bad guys to beat on (I think they're green IIRC). Plus it takes way too many hits to kill these lowly bastards. I like the environment changes like the floor in the 2nd level, and of course the huge tank / ship boss goes without saying. I had much more fun with Lyle personally.

Noitu Love suffered from being way too repetitive. It was well presented but it just wasn't worth coming back to for me after a certain point. It's a shame. You really do need to add in a lot of gimmicks and possibly storyline to hold my attention.

I wasn't keen on NL2, it was fun to play on the first go but nothing brought me back for another play through. Where games like Aquaria, Lyle, Ainevoltas, Knytt and co have replayability in the forms of collectables, more fun unlockables and alternate paths I didn't find NL2 to have anything like this. A few stolen ideas from Metal Slug (the prisoners) and maybe the introduction of weapons could have expanded the game. And I know what you mean, some games you feel you can't give an honest opinion about without being hounded I also didn't like Lyle too much.
My fave click game is still Alex Adventure. Atmosphere and gameplay - you CAN have them both!
Final Vision was awesome, though I HATE YOU for the non-existing secret area past Narshe...
Eternal Daughter is an amazing feat, but it's impossibly hard and has an evil control...
Knytt and Knytt stories are two great games, I love the atmospheric exploration and they have an excellent control! The downside is the lack of "carrots" for the exploration. If they contained enemies whom you could incapacitate in some way, weapons and power up's would have been great "carrots"! Now once you've found the upgrades you really don't want to explore anymore since there really isn't anything to find, that's a shame...
And also Cerberus! That's an excellent game!
Shima bros is an old but great game too, it's too short though!
I leveled my summoner to level 105. The final boss can only hit me for 1 damage at a time, and I can kill him with one Chocobo and my arms tied behind my back.
