One is the demo for my game, one is the actual game. The demo, a few years ago, gets more downloads than the ACTUAL game, because TDC was so much more active back then. And it didnt even get as much downloads as a Desktop Poo that I put together in 5 minutes did, despite being some big epic length platformer, because TDC was fairly active with that compo back in the winter holidays
its nice to see TDC pick up after how dead it was acting. Must be all the compos
Good point, but the fact that you put "abandonware" in the title probably dropped the downloads to about a tenth, while a "demo" in the title would make it at about a quarter of full download potential.

Surely it's easy to give a someone with a bad game encouraging comments? Just tell them why their game is bad. Even if it's as simple as telling them to avoid the build in movement at all costs. Just a simple link to a helpful article or engine would be a huge help.
Moving from Built in to custom movement is the biggest step most clickers ever make.

The first condition is easy enough to meet. For those of you who want to make a fake profile, make a female one. Not that I'd encourage fake profiles, it's just that I can't stop you either way, so at least make yourself useful
1:1000? Where did you get that statistic? It'd be more like a 1 to 30,000 (or however many members there are)... =P
Discarded pizza boxes are an indispensable source of cheese.
Female gamers are one of the most rapidly growing segments in gaming. But then again, game making is totally another thing and obviously 99.9% boys stuff, no questions about that. But if TDC would like to get more girls to join, the best solution would be to open up a Vitalized/Java browser game section, which would feature e.g. small puzzle games and other casual content with some social elements.
At MJK Games forum, the Male to Female ratio is actually 1.8:1, so in every three members there are more than one female. Though the total number of members is only around 300 (had to wipe out 1000 accounts because of a forum provider change, yay).
