Hi, I started making music for games when I made Jimmy's Unlikely Resurrection.
Since then I have continued to make tunes because I love the way you can make them just the way you like music, so even though everybody else thinks my songs are rubbish, I don't care because to me, they're great!
Also, I find it convenient that my music taste is similar to those of computer games in the 80's and 90's. And petshop Boys.

well why does the custom controls for the keyboard palyer even affect the menu controls at all whats thep oint jsutm ake it so for the keyboard palyer on the menu screens everything is always up down left right enter regardless of the controls they set'
They're just my sort of music. I like the song 'Planes 2' from the game Ever Eternal Winter World (Or what ever it is). Apart from that, though, I can't think of a song I like on the Daily Click.
Real world game tunes I like...
Deus Ex
Operation Flashpoint
Final Fantasy
Turrican 2
Robocod
and that's probably about it.

I think it's more a case of my style being different to everybody elses, as opposed to everybody being stupid and making rubbish songs
Perhaps the same applies to games as well. Oh no!

I'm quite odd in the sense that I much prefer my composers music over other music. I think he has a unique style/touch, plus the fact that he is very productive. Hopefully I'll shape up and finish some games so you can hear some more of his work.
YES YES YES! Best OST ever that puppy. Ripped it using my Amiga's lineout some years ago. Bloody quality stuff. Even taught myself The Great Bath, the first factory song and Freedom just by ear from listening to them over and over

I know what you mean. So much so that I've stopped listening to Tangerine Dream, Lemon Jelly, Mr. Scruff and friends and just play this chaps music whilst working. It's great when you work with a musician so much that you fuse together in a creative mess, like. When you both feed of each others input even though they're completely different media.

Oh yeah. Turrican 2 is great for music. I'm not that fond if his later stuff. (But if you know of Thornado you MAY recognize a bit of it in my Jimmy 2 song... not deliberately, of course, but I was listening to it the night before I made the song )
These are the best ones (in my opinion, my order...)
Main Theme
Traps
Freedom
The Wall
Metal Stars
The Desert Ambush
Mr Walker and his Factory
Oh and don't forget the insane tune, Hypercycle!

The Wall! That's the factory track I picked up. Yea Turrican 1 was a little too 80's and only bits of Turrican 3 were any good at all (the first 2 factory tracks are pretty listenable, IMO). And a bloody shame that Factor 5's best recent work was a game where Huelsbeck didn't even need to make new music for. Ridiculous!
Can't remember the track name but the one that sounds similar to Freedom but used on the space shooting level was very good too
I also have it on youtube, but it's in a 'making of' video and is best watched AFTER you've listened to the song.
