What's up with these recent childish tutorial threads titled things like "uh" and "em" where silly things are asked about the rotational speeds of chainsaws? We need to start enforcing some more quality standards.
I wouldn't say that he's randomly locking topics. Mostly the threads that degenerated into spam that should've been locked earlier. I'd change the uh, em titles, but I think that option was removed from the new DC. There was one time when one of the admins (SC, I think) used to yell at guys who posted titles like that.

The thread about a Mitch comic. It was locked because 90% of it was random quote spam. I feel sorry for Rikus though, I wish he could've gotten some more quality responses. And yes, there really are way too many um. er. yo. topics making no sense whatsoever, lock and delete those!
yeah, and stupid people act stupid. People on this site have a nasty habit of responding to original work with derision and scorn more than praise and appreciation, especially when its good. But that goes for the whole wild internets, does it not? I've sometimes felt programming is more fun if you don't share the games.
Umm to clear at least one thing up is that i did not even see the post with the word construct in it, that argument is just silly. The reason why those topics were locked is that they went off topic for pages and pages with 1 or 2 normal posts in between. Not a good thing

Agreed. I've got tons of stuff I've made for my own amusement that will never see the light of day. It's more fun that way!

I disagree. I rarely ever show any of my work, but I love to see what people think of it. Getting positive feedback is really quite encouraging and gives a good feeling.

I think you missed the part where I said that they were made for my OWN amusement. Most of the stuff I would consider to be unplayable, due to horrible gfx, poor controls, etc etc.
I don't really get much out of "releasing" my stuff. Making it and showing pieces to good friends is what does it for me, like before I even had internet. It's just like my music, I'm almost done recording my album but I don't think I will release it to the public, just give to family and friends. I don't give a shit what the rest of the world thinks. That makes adding my games here almost a selfless act
I kinda enjoy getting good feedback. I also like to think there are a certain amount of people enjoying my game, which is better than keeping it on my harddrive.
I mean why make something if no one else will ever enjoy it?
If it wasn't for the fact Click has/had a huge community i probably would have moved on from making games a long time ago. The only problem is that Ive always taken everything to heart so just one bad comment or a relative lack of feedback can completely kill my enthusiasm.
I don't really care much about what people think. Personally, I make a game because the game I'm working on doesn't exist out there. If games in this world were perfect, I wouldn't be making any

Well then wha's the point in being in a game-making commnity, on a website called create-games if you don't want to share your work or get feedback from others? I was pretty sure that's what the whole Projects, Downloads an reviews section was all about, lol.

Well lets see, there's the tons of knowledge, lots of cool games, help from other people. I personally had only the most basic grasps of what the klik products could do until I joined click cafe and read through the tutorials and saw some of the great things people had made with KNP, TGF, MMF.
That's like asking why you go to a library if you're not an author!

Yeah, but this place is about giving and taking, not take take take, especially if you're an admin.

It's not about taking and only taking. You can come here to get help making games and helping other people making games. Then the result is nothing more than the result of that. As opposed to the "dudes I made a game and it totally pwwwns yous games, praise me praise me" attitude some people have here.

I still remember when you had a home cinema
When did I say that :S
I've probably mentioned a big TV or something in the past and that it could be 'like a cinema' jokingly. Or are you getting confused when I said I did work experience installing home cinemas?
Our local cinema floods us with 40 minute adverts so we just watch things at home.
