Okay, I JUST posted my latest game in the project section. So, I go to work on it, and then everything on the screen locks up. I closed MMF2 down, and then re-opened it, and I get THIS message:

An error occured while loading screen#1. Do you want to continue loading this application anyway? If you answer yes, the frame will be deleted.

I CAN'T OPEN MY FRICKIN' PROJECT. What the hell? I'm so pissed. This is the reason why I left clicking for two years, because all sorts of shitty errors would happen, and I'd lose something I've been working on for months. Help me.

Copy the .mfa to another directory, open the duplicate, and see what happens. I've often found that errors such as this are liars. >_O And can sometimes be recovered from.

It's still blowed up.

I want to do everything I can to revive the old file. Restarting the project will be a last resort...

I have a file with most of the graphics. But no, no game backups. I started it a few days ago, and I was GOING to make backups... Is there anything else I can do to fix it?

I wonder if you sent the file to someone else if they would be able to open it...

Did you delete any old versions of the game? Cause then you could try using TuneUp undelete to restore that file (if you're lucky). Btw do you have autobackup selected in MMF2?

I'll turn on auto-back up. I'm restarting the project. Hopefully, it'll turn out better this time. Thanks for the advice, everybody.

Don't loose heart, god knows how many times this has happened to me.

Just restart the project and it will be better than it was before.

If you need moral support in having to recode it all, we're here. I've had this happen to me more than once on one project alone! I know how annoying it is to restart something you've been working on.

Ouch...

I've heard that the guys at Clickteam can sometimes salvage a damaged file, but I've never seen it happen first-hand.

I don't know my exact amount, they're all over the place! I've got my old laptop's HDD from years ago backed up onto my old desktop, which in turn was backed up onto my new external hard drive. My family's laptop had the games on them for awhile, but when I reformatted the drive, I backed it up to the external drive. It has them on there again, so another backup. My computer right now has the originals, one backup per day I work on it, and a backup of the backup in another folder. Then, I image my entire drive occasionally to my external drive. Now, my newly reformatted ancient laptop also has them on there, along with my sister's old laptop that never gets used. Plus, my OLD OLD desktop (These are all donated, I move up to the "fastest" one.) also has some of my first click games, which have been copied all over each computer. And my brother's desktop had them on there before I knew he was going to take it from me. :| They're probably lurking on other forgotten computers and drives from eons of copying and computer hacking and whatnot. Ah, nostalgia... Needless to say, the .gam file is a very prevalent extension in my house.

Most of them except for my daily backups and drive image are old, though. And when I can finally afford a new laptop, they'll be on there too. In fact, any and every machine, whether it ends up getting used or not, gets the whole GFactory folder copied to its drive.

It's crappy but a good way to force you into backing up games. I've got mine spread all over external drives, discs, pen drives, girlfriends computer

There's something wrong with that. "It's crappy but a good way to force you into backing up games." And we back up our games because...?
