External extensions?
Yeah I know stupid post and I am new at MMF2 but I did some experiments with it and it looks easy but the question is how many games made with MMF2 use downloaded extensions?

Is it possible to make a good game with the pre-installed/installed with MMF2 disc extensions or should I download external extensions to do something professional(Not soon tough, I first will start from the small stuff obviously)

P.S:This also matters for examples/tutorials I could download.

You can defiantly make some good stuff with the official extensions. Idunno what you mean with "external extensions", I usually get by just using the ones from the bonus packs.

Are you too lazy to download and install extensions
There's an excellent app to fix that: http://www.clickteam.com/FusionUpdater.zip

I don't see why this would matter, unless you have TGF2 (or have an illegal copy of MMF2 ) and not being able to download new extensions.

Nah, I was always like that, I prefer using the Vanilla/original stuff and work with it
I can download as easily as I download some random games off gaming sites.

I am against warez completely, So my copy is indeed original(noticed that I said "DISC") Actually I have some external(as in downloaded from somewhere like Sonic websites to rely on Sonic psychics)on, I can use them just fine but I am asking for curiosity about using the original stuff

And whats with TGF2? It doesn't use external(or whatever the right word is) extensions?

Just a small question I noticed there are games uploaded by game makers not made with Click Team on the site(Adventure Game Studio for example)

Is it OK if I upload my previous Game Maker games? They were made with GM6/5 and previous versions too so no promises about Vista, I recently switched to MMF2 Developer tough so my future games(Except Gunmetal as it is being made with the Retribution engine) will be made with MMF2 Developer.

I'm not sure. But I don't think TGF2 supports un-official extensions. I think you still can download bonus packs and stuff.

I've seen one or two adventure games made with AVGS on this site, but I don't know TDCs policy.

Upload all the games you want. TDC allows games made with other products, we're just primarily a clicking site.

TGF2 is a watered down version of MMF2. The only major differences are that the interface icons are HUGE and it doesn't support extensions.

The vast majority of click games use some kind of extensions. The most popular is probably the platform movement object, although to be honest ive never used it and i'm a rubbish coder. So in most cases they're not required.

But if you suddenly have an urge to make the pc speaker bleep, want to make a 'mode7' game or use Lua scripting, extensions are nice to have around.

mode7 sounds interesting, I know what it is tough, I played Super Turrican 2 on snes and it looks quite cool for a fake 3D.

I can't fathom the idea of using the PMO since I write all my own engines, but I don't think I've made a project that hasn't used extensions since the days of KNP. Heck at the least I'll use a DMC or something, but I'm addicted to using the array-of-arrays magicdeque, which I would love to marry at this point in programming the 'reverse time' half of my engine
