i know theres a active users list for users currently online.
and there is a search function to search for members.
but unless i have completely missed it, there is no complete list of all members. couldnt we have a list of members that you can sort just like downloads articles projects etc? sort alphabetically (ascending descending, and group into letter categories for easy searching), sort by dc points, sort by most recently active, etc?
and secondly
and then pm's (haha not pms )
this is kind of a given, that your mailbox should have a sent box. i dont know how pms are coded on the database tables but since theres only a "to:" form and no from its only
to profile id
date sent
and
private message contents
or something of the like, and it sorts your inbox by pm's that are sent to your id
adding
from profile id
would allow it to sort all messages FROM you, ie an outbox. if thats the case it shouldnt be that hard to even implement but all old mail wont show up in outbox.
now. the reciever of a mail can delete a pm, and im assuming it deletes it from the database. but adding
delete to
delete from
would allow it to be deleted from either the sender or recievers in/out box while retaining the message on the database until they both delete it, and then permanently delete it once neither have use for it.
any way you implement it i think an outbox would be much appreciated. sometimes i send something and forget all about it. or recieve something and i have no idea what that person is talking about cause i forgot i sent them a pm.
The simplest way to cater to that PM problem for now would be to have it automatically include the contents of the message that was replied to at the bottom. But that would be a temporary fix.
Lol, you do not want to see a list of members. It's messy. 50%-70% of the accounts are a mess. Hmm.. scrounging through the nicks: "???", "???*", "001", "002", "003", "007ssssss", "0110100001101001", at least 50 guys named Adam (stopped counting), with 4 of them being "adam", 10 "Adam", and only one "-Adam-". And to top it off, one guy's nick actually broke this page when I tried to post it.. pressing my key left made the cursor thingy move right. And that's just a tenth of the stuff going down to A.
The "sent mail" feature I support, though

well thats actually a good thing muz. cause it shows that we have a ton of accounts that are just silly. most of them are inactive meaning whoever made them doesn't care about the site or just forgot. i support a full inactive account sweep n delete. all accounts inactive for like over a year should be deleted and an email sent to them telling them. then a fine sweep going through all the random ones. i'll take that job on myself. i'll do anything i can to contribute and clean up the site.
Hmm.. I'm not so keen on the inactive account cleaning. A lot of people stop kliking for a short while. Many of the best ex-klikers come back after 5 years and won't reply to a delete warning while they're away. Heck, if an account was deleted after a year of inactivity, I think my account or Rikus's account definitely won't be there. And also there's the old downloads and stuff which would suddenly disappear because the submitter was deleted.

Yea, the downloads would disappear. I don't like the idea of deleting someone's TDC legacy, either. I've actually never been a fan of inactive account deletions on any site unless the server is under stress from it and can't operate, but I don't think that's an issue. I suppose someone could hand-pick the ridiculous ones that signed up and didn't come back after that first day and don't have any posts in the forum.
Yay for Sentmails and notifications
Nay for account deletions and a member list.
um actually, im not all too sure about that OMC. we now have to pay quite a bit to be on this new fangle server. ultimitely its cause the old host stopped services, but before that, we had "service unavailable" like every 5 goddamn seconds. im pretty sure that was a sure sign we were too big to be there.
as for inactive deletions. you have to understand. im talking to get rid of the accounts no one EVER USES! when doing an account sweep you can take more into account than just inactiveness. like how many downloads have they submitted? how long have they been inactive? how many projects do they have? how many posts have they made? how many front page commments? download comments? etc etc.
there are tons of accounts with NOTHING! never uploaded anything, posted, commented, just wasting space. when doing a sweep you go as narrow as possible so you dont delete anyone of significance. and then you do the fine sweep, going through the rest of the accounts one by one personally checking links, activity, etc.
it would actually fix quite a few problems. there are lots of people get pissed off cause tons of games have broken links.

Member list of members that have logged in under a year. Should only be about 5k or so.
