Quite a cool idea. Id love to do something like that, make perhaps mini games to sell for 50 points or something. Or perhaps they could use it in the arcade or w/e
It is a good idea...but how likely are people to spend points on a game unless it's already been proven awesome? Perhaps this could work with non-freeware games. Instead of charging money, people could sell their games on the DC to VIP members for points or something.
If people think they're game won't be awesome then they won't charge for it..

Even if they know it'll be awesome, wouldnt they want as many people playing their game as they can? (like guests or people that don't have enough points?)
I think Adam's mini game idea is quite good, that would work. Or you could charge points for game engines perhaps?
Good heavens no. That would stop a lot of new users downloading the game, plus you could always view the pages source code and find the download yourself. Maybe charge DC points for extras, like soundtrack download or ingame items but it defeats the purpose of freeware games to have them cost something (even something as intagable as points).
I agree, it certainly would be fun. After all, the games in the game shop would be made to be sold, lots of clickers I talk to tend to make little mini games now and then for fun, so I dont see the harm.
It's a good idea, but for this site it's probably not such a good idea. The number of users who actually download games is nothing compared to what it used to be, so allowing users to charge points for their games would likely reduce the number of downloads per game. If the community was a lot bigger than it would be a cool idea and allow users who make games to earn points for each download - but the community isn't really as big as it used to be.
Maybe we could do like Adam said and put a few mini-games on the store or something.. But my suggestion would be, if you download a game and like it then send the creator of that game a donation or trophy

That's a good idea, much more community inclusive than exclusive. And I see your point about download numbers too, I don't see much point in further shrinking that figure down.
