Haha you just said Neighbours is utter crap then went on to say Home and Away is worth watching? Home and Away is like a poor man's Neighbours with the uglier rejected Aussies.

Currently watching Joanna Lumley's Nile

Are you insane? Home and Away has always had the hotter girls (although none to match Ashley Benson, formerly of "Days of Our Lives"), and it's set in a beachside town so they're always wearing less too
It also has really stupidly dramatic plot lines - like Miles has currently gone mental and is seeing a girl called "Rabbit", who is actually his daughter who died in a Tsunami a few years ago.
Neighbours is just cheesy and lame.

"Neighbours is just cheesy and lame."

Wrong. Neighbours has had some great and emotional storylines (especially recently), and the acting is by far superior than Home and Away (Which you'll find is far less popular in the UK)

As for which soap has the hot girls? It's not really a question of who has the hottest to me, I go on storyline and acting, but if you insist:

There are lots more, but like I said, I don't watch soaps for the prettiest characters.

Granted, some are past characters in that list, but then look at Home and Away's females

http://l.yimg.com/ea/img/-/100324/haa-cast-emily-symons400x3-15qj6re.jpg (has a jaw-line bigger than most men)

Oh, and you're doing it again-

"It also has really stupidly dramatic plot lines - like Miles has currently gone mental and is seeing a girl called "Rabbit", who is actually his daughter who died in a Tsunami a few years ago."

Then go on to say Neighbours is Cheesy and lame? You seem a tad hypocritical to make such statements.

You'll never win over the Kennedys and/or Ramsay street

You deliberately just hand picked the least attractive cast members (surprised you didn't mention Colleen) - it's like me claiming Helen Daniels is representative of the women in Neighbours!

Home and Away wins hands down

In the interest of fairness, you really should have mentioned Brooke Satchwell - who was very cute and played Anne Wilkinson, back in the days when Neighbours actually was still good - and Natalie Imbruglia, who I honestly don't even remember being in it, but who I do really like as a singer ("Left of the Middle" is still one of my favourite albums).

Home and Away has plenty great "emotional" storylines too, but it also has some real drama - human trafficking, murder mysteries, riots, physic ghosts, rapes, etc.
The recent Hugo storyline was almost cinematic, in the way it all unfolded - far more sophisticated than you'd get in any other soap.

Popularity can never be used as a reliable indicator of how good something is - Westlife are perfect example of that - but as it happens, noone in Australia likes Neighbours, so it's danger of being axed anyway

Before I joined the Navy 4 years ago my fav tv shows were 24, arrested development, prison break, firefly, and law and order. But now I'm in Japan and and with only 3 local channels. Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing steaming fresh anime... but everything else is either news, cooking shows, game shows, or a odd mix of the three.

The A Team beats both neighbores and home and away. I dont watch much tv, and i am not a fan of soaps at all. Being smelly is far more fun!

Arguing which soap is better between Neighbours and Home & Away is like arguing who is the better between Gordon Brown and Susan Boyle.

I know this is a pretty old thread that I'm reviving, but I'm just so excited to have finally found something good to watch on TV

"Pretty Little Liars" is a cross between Gossip Girl and I Know What You Did Last Summer, and it's actually really good.
Is has a great cast, including my all-time favorite actress Ashley Benson (from Bring It On 4 and Days of Our Lives), as well as Tammin Sursok (Dani Sutherland in Home and Away), Torrey DeVitto (the hot nanny from One Tree Hill) and Lucy Hale (the non-ugly twin in Privileged).

Been watching this new lot of University Challenge that's been on. Literally nobody I ever met at university would know a single answer to these questions.

I love University Challenger, but yes, it's pretty hardcore.
There was a really hot American girl on it this week too, for a change:

For the record, Rachel Riley (Countdown) is my fav TV bird: http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00957/SNN31TV02A_280_957198a.jpg

As for Neighbours vs Home and Away - i always preferred Neighbours, but the girls on Home and Away were always waaaaaaaaaaay hotter (except Natalie Imbruglia, but how long has that been??) so Home and Away wins!
