Question: If we stick footage of games made with Clickteam products in our videos that we didn't make ourselves, would we need to ask permission from the original authors first?

Like the people who bought A man with a monocle, no doubt.
haha lets jump into every thread and pick on a user that posted something.
i have pointed it out before and i will just point it out every time you feel like attacking somebody again.
And taking the piss out of Clickteam in a Clickteam-user made thread is okay, is it? Grow up, and unless you have anything to contribute, don't say anything.
I just glanced at it without really looking, so I didn't see the artifacts on the play button. But gamester likes to be an ass hole cause he's a troll.
haha, it could be a lot worse but I'm going to try and use these Admin Notes more often, rather than issuing outright warnings. I see the notes as more of a "guide", and hope they steer the person involved in the right direction. But its nothing official... as Ricky says, it's like correcting an English paper
Seriously though I don't understand, why are we supposed to worship clickteam ?
It's not like I insulted anyone, I only said that I'm not an happy customer.

No need to get all butt hurt over it.
I agree, why did he get a note for what he mentioned?

There's no need to make snide comments if you're a "unhappy customer" in a thread made for a Clickteam competition. Its really pathetic.
If I were Kisguri Id delete this thread and start over, or not bother at all judging on the initial reception.
True his opinion is allowed but it wasn't really the response Kisguri was looking for; he posted a thread asking for users to submit testimonials on Clickteam products. Nobody is "butthurt"

I wouldn't expect you to think otherwise since you have a long history of buttlicking clickteam and insulting whoever says something bad about them.

Well, if you were to give warnings every time someone went off-topic you'd have to leave your job and go full time admin.
No big deal though, I don't take it personally, also the butthurt part wasn't meant at you.

Usually when I dislike something that does not harm me or my friends I choose to just ignore it, like I just don't comment on the click games I don't like. A loose negative comment is not going to help anybody. But it is up to you what you do anyway.
I might interview some of my TGF students for this (so one of them might win this) if I get permission from my school to film it...which might be hard.
Compression is a funny thing, it really depends what you focus on. Just like I can't listen to mp3 at all while most people hardly hear the compression.
I can see Mr Look is upset, Johnny have you contacted anyone at Clickteam with your issue, if you haven't I hope you will PM me about it or e-mail me at ccarson at Clickteam dot com, If you have can you please PM me what the response from CT was, So I can see if anything else can be done to help. If someone is a paying customer and have a problem that we can and should fix, Then of course it's our job to fix it. Contrary to some of the opinions I occasionally see floating around here, the impression that we are some sort of Megalomaniac corporation helmed by Demon Spawn and hellbent on world domination, we do care about our customers and their creations.
As to the video's please create what ever you want, if you send in something a bit more let's say satirical then we would still love to see it, of course it won't be entered into the competition but we will love it all the same. And would probably post it some where. With that said I can't wait to see what you guys do with the thread now that I have spoken up!
Oh and I wondered how many people would click the "Player" image after I made it, for those who have extra ware and tear on their mouses my apologizes!
Hayo: Well I paid a good sum of money for mmf2 and in the end it wasn't exactly the product I expected so I can say it did harm me or to be more exact, my wallet. And even though I didn't say exactly why I wasn't happy with with mmf2, my comment could help, if clickteam realizes that their customers aren't all that happy about mmf2 they might feel the need to improve it instead of releasing paid addons/exporters.
Kisguri: It's not that simple, the problems I face with mmf2 can't be fixed from one day to another. I bought tgf in 2000 if I'm not mistaken and it had serious issues but it worked and there were no similar products at the time. 7 years later, when so many new similar tools were already released and some of them for free, I bought mmf2 only to find that during all that time not all that much was improved and some of the biggest problems were still there. Object selection is still broken, bad objects still happen from time to time etc... I had a mmorpg project, Atrox Online, that was going really well at first but as the project grew larger I started to face all sorts of problems. And yes, I have the last update (251 I think) and no the problems weren't in my end. I think mmf2 is good for small sized projects but it's simply not an option for projects with a bigger scope. And when it comes to smaller projects I'd go for construct so all in all it just wasn't worth my money.
MMF2 isn't even up to par with construct which is free, let alone the other paid tools. I think clickteam missed the boat, the community has been shrinking when it was supposed to grow now that indie game development is booming.
I feel there's a serious need to change something in your business model or in mmf2 or I can imagine clickteam going under in a few years time.
"I can see Mr Look is upset, Johnny have you contacted anyone at Clickteam with your issue, if you haven't I hope you will PM me about it or e-mail me at ccarson at Clickteam dot com, If you have can you please PM me what the response from CT was, So I can see if anything else can be done to help"
I think Kisguri is aware of the nature of your problem and was asking you to contact Clickteam directly so they could work with you to fix the problems that plague you, just as other companies do. It's one thing to have problems with your software and another thing to be aware of them, and it is yet another thing to have detail-rich information about the problem so you know where to look to fix or improve it.
There is a difference between "Your product sucks." and "I had this problem with your software when doing this. It seems to happen at these times so it might be related to this. I think it could be improved if you implemented these changes and added this."
All I can say is The tool is capable of making a great number of things large and small. I mean in this video here you have a wide range of games made in the tool...
And if you never approached Clickteam about the Object Selection and or Bad Objects, Share a MFA etc, than we can't fix it or attempt too. So again, obviously you still using it to some extent or you would not have updated to 251 so if you still are having those issue PM me. If you did approach CT about it let me know what happened so next time we don't let a user problem fall through the cracks.
Admin Note Video has been removed; Kisguri, can you link to the newer one? :)
Had construct been around, i might have not purchased mmf2 in 2007. But it was not overly expensive, 3 days wages, and i was working minimum wage at the time. There are solutions to all the problems you mentioned.
Object selection is a piece of cake thanks to the "for each" object.
Even before that you could spread values.
Yes there are issues when your game gets huge but there is a pretty easy way to fix that. Make as much external as possible. Levels can be made in what ever kind of file you like, you can store all the graphics and sound externally. Hell you can even externalize some of the code thanks to lua.
Remember whats up for grabs, A free copy of MMF2 Developer, our Flash Exporter and the Unicode add on, WOW. So make sure you make your entry video, two and 1/2 weeks left!
