I think it's hard to have a firm opinion on one country without having traveled most of the world so I think the burger king dude is a moron for saying that.
My opinion on the countries I've been:
Italy: good food, surprisingly similar to spain and portugal, and most chicks range from average to hot.
France: so-so food, very similar alimentary habits to switzerland. As for the girls there's a bit of everything so it's hard to have a solid opinion. Generally speaking they are a bit too thin imo, some look almost anorectic.
Germany: I've been there only once and it was for a really short time and really close to the swiss borders so perhaps my opinion is far from the truth. I didn't like the food much honestly, but the chicks are above average. A bit too tall for my tastes though since I'm a relatively short guy.
Spain: Pretty good food in most places, and the women is generally hot. Most of them if not all seem to have a pretty big obsession with their image from a young age. It's not uncommon to see a 14 years old girl in the street who looks like she's 20. Whether or not this is a good thing is up to you.
Switzerland: The food is ok at best, I love Rosti though. As for the girls there's a bit of everything really, blondes, brunettes, asians are in almost equal numbers but generally speaking they are hot.
Portugal: Has the best and most varied food out of the countries I visited. Girls range from really ugly to really hot, though most of them are above average specially in the big cities like lisbon, oporto and braga.
Portugal and switzerland are the countries I'm the most familiar with since I live or lived there for at least 10 years each and traveled most of the country so I think I can say I have a solid opinion on them.
In my opinion Burger King, McDonalds, English food and English chicks are ALL disgusting.
Yeah, but then you eat pasta and fancy hippies who don't wear an ounce of make up
Ive known lots of attractive girls in my lifetime, and lots of ugly ones too.
People judge the UK if they've been on holiday to somewhere like London or Scotland or somewhere typically touristy. Granted, its a tiny country, but its also very diverse and constantly changing. 10 minutes from me across a river and the accent and people are completely different. 30 minutes North and its different again, and it continues like that all the way to Scotland.
Its like someone going on Holiday to Florida and judging the whole of America on amusement parks full of tourists.
Edit: Good to see you're not biased at all, Johnny
You always make such profound statements and generalise things as if its a fact instead of your opinion, as if you've travelled all over Britain and know what you're talking about. Its like me going to one place in Cornwall and saying the whole place is a crap hole. Im wondering if you actually ever leave your little fishing village?
Not really. Travelling in USA Ill see around 10-15 truly obese people, including men and children, not just women. That's not a lot in comparison to the hundreds of slim/normal sized people I see. It's just another fallacy like saying Brits have bad teeth or drink tea all day. And that's a lot coming from me as I love to wind Americans up about obesity issues.
Actually, I've seen more of Britain than most people. I've lived in Oxfordshire, Wales, Devon, and Cornwall, and traveled all over. I've also lived in Canada and France.
And also, there's nothing wrong with making generalizations.
For example, there's an internet dating site that only accepts beautiful people. Potential members post photos of themselves, which are judged by other members, and only the most attractive are accepted. The acceptance:refusal ratio is highest for Scandinavians. It's a generalization to say Scandinavian people are on average, more attractive, but it's also accurate.
The bit about Americans all being morbidly obese, that was just a joke.
Oxfordshire, Wales, Devon, and Cornwall are all southern, and travelling doesn't prove anything. Perhaps if you're generalising a small village or even a town Id understand, but you're giving entire counties and countries.
And no, there's nothing wrong with generalisations, so long as you aren't so blatantly wrong/over the top.
The bit about Americans all being morbidly obese, that was just a joke.
its not a joke, you haven't traveled america enough :S
sure theres plenty of us exceptions who can run circles around the fatty cakes, but theres statistically a heck of a lot more lardos here than anywhere else
I blame TV.
It's all part of this PC crap - like we're supposed to say it's okay to be obese, and you should just be comfortable in your own skin (or even worse - "fat and proud"), and all that nonsense (Mercedes from Glee would be a perfect example).
Btw: Scotland are right behind you in terms of obesity - 27% of Scottish people, vs 32% of Americans, are obese.
Also, Adam might be interested to know that obesity rates are much higher in the North of England than the South: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obesity_in_the_United_Kingdom
WTF are you talking about now, Sketchy? The only time I've discussed obesity was when I mentioned it in America being a falacy or atleast considerably over-exaggerated. Other than that, in terms of the UK, Im referring to your original comment about Uglyness and food. I haven't even discussed obesity in the UK, you're the one who brought obesity in America into it as an example, assuming by ugly they must mean obese.
So yeah, god knows why you're throwing the obesity rates of the UK around.
Think about it...
Not all ugly women are obese, but all (or certainly the vast majority of) obese women are ugly. Therefore, if you have a lot of obese people in an area, it's going to lower the average attractiveness.
Ignoring your obesity fixation, Sketchy, your first post showed a latent contempt for French and any vaguely cosmopolitan cuisine. And vegetables. And now,
Also, Adam might be interested to know that obesity rates are much higher in the North of England than the South
WHY might he? Looks to me like a ridiculous passive-aggressive response to the way he pointed out you've lived in a few different places in the south west. With a latent contempt for the north. Forget the food, forget the fat chicks, THIS IS WHY YOU'RE MAKING US UPSET!
"but all (or certainly the vast majority of) obese women are ugly"
That's a really ignorant statement IMO.
Look at women like Dawn French. She's over weight, or has been considerably in the past.Granted, she's middle aged now, and not someone Id go for, but I wouldn't say she's ugly. Certainly not in comparison to someone like Joe Brand.
Also you need to be careful how you use the term Obese. Nowadays Obese is anything over the recommended body weight, not just morbidly obese people.
I have nothing against the North or Northerners. Don't know where you got that idea. It's just that Adam seems to think that I only have knowledge of Southerners, as if Northerners might be much more attractive, and I'm merely pointing out that they probably aren't.
So what if I don't like French-style cuisine? I'm sure there are some foods that you like more than others.
I would say Dawn French is *physically* pretty unattractive. I guess it depends how you want to define ugly - if you look at people on HotOrNot.com, roughly what score constitutes ugly? Anything below average? Anything below 5? Anything below 2?
No, Obese is not "anything over the recommended body weight". Obese is a very clearly defined term, used to mean having a BMI over 30 (not accounting for athletes, etc) - a BMI between 25 and 30 is overweight, but not obese.

That was my understanding too. Alot of people who think they are fat that i've met are pleasently surprised that they're medically "normal" when taking the BMI test.
