Really enjoyed making more games for a compo in a row. I remeber it took about a half year, or a bit more. And Im sure, lot of new connection was born during that half year between ppl here on tdc... But this place was a bit more active then I think. Would be cool to have another one, but Im not sure Id have that much time for it ;*-C But Id be in with small stupid games :C
I remember it fondly. It wasn't long after I just joined, though I may be incorrect. But yes, there was much more activity then, I recall. Most of the old members I would call my 'internet buddies' from back then are gone now. Always thought I would be the first to leave to be honest. I know I'm not an oldie, but damn time flies.
As for another Tourey, I would contemplate on doing it, but the timelines would most definitely have to be expanded. 7 Days to make a game is not enough in my opinion, and for some only semi-motivated, like the vast majority of the members nowadays, that would be nowhere near long enough. I think maybe make 15 day time constraints would be good. The Tourey probably wouldn't be longer with expanded time either because we wouldn't have as many participants most likely.
I remember the Tourey, never been as productive as I was then. Tourey even produced my first finished game!
Longer dev-time would be a must. Also, Peblo was clever putting it during the summer, people tend to have more free time then. So perhaps start one early June or something? And keep it running until end of summer.
That'd be great!

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew I (or someone else) would have to correct it as "Tourey". That was probably my favorite and most beloved part of the whole thing.
I remember it too, i really did not know anything about coding back then, but i was very ethusiastic about trying to win. I think i ended up in the second or third place.
I think the "Tourey" got so much attention because there was a money prize in it aswell.
EE- i remember your defense base game, to me it was one of the best on the tourey. Wonder if you still have it somewhere?
Tourey compo was one of the most fun events to happen around here.

I see Peblo on Facebook a lot. He seems to be having fun with his life.

I remember peblo, he was one of like 5 people who actually played OMG zombies before it got all mucked up. I think you were another muz, and so was don... that just leaves Dr. James and Mr. Green who also aren't around anymore it seems.
Never heard of it, but I guess if he's got the money to spend to develop on the PSN, then I guess that's something to be proud of. What is it? Like $10k for a developers kit?
No, he's signed up to a developer, Ripstone, and he's onboard as a creative director or somesuch thing. Our friend Mr. Pineapple is doing the voice over work again.
Ah, that makes sense. It's always nice to have a sugar daddy.
I wouldn't mind doing another competition, but I'm all burnt out from the last one, and we haven't even gotten the results from that one. I might be willing to donate a prize or two for smaller prizes, maybe like a case of soda or some nonsense like that.
I tried to kick start a competition by contacting all of the Admins. Jon Lambert was most interested but haven't really gotten anything concrete yet. I like the idea of a Console wars/Tourney crossover.
That having been said, we should all keep pushing for one!

It was great, i remember being on a stag do in Poland and checking up on it on the computer in the hotel lobby. I showed my mates and they didn't care..... fools!!
