Here is some good news. On Clickteam's site, there is a tread in the forum that indicates Clickteam Fusion 3's blog will restart soon. Let's see what happens in a couple of months.....

I think there isn't even much demand for Klik anymore. Other than nostalgia. I love the event editor which is why I still would use it for prototypes, but other than that it seems the freely available programs like Untiy, Godot, etc. Are immensely more powerful stable and useful. This isn't 2007 where the best you get was Dark Basic and 3D Game Creator that cost hundreds to thousands. Now people are even creating beautiful and AAA level stuff using Unreal at their home PC. Like Bright Memory for example. The best bet for Fusion would be that it is the best and easiest 2D game development tool for both mobile, PC, and consoles. Otherwise I don't see the point in shelling out the hundreds of currency it will likely cost. Again, I love the event editor and all that and wish Clickteam would modernize everything to compete with Construct at the very least.

You have some great points! There is also Gdevelop, as well. It can even do 3D, if I understand correctly. I am very disappointed that Clickteam could not do FireFly right! They could not even get a good working world editor for it! Whatever Clickteam does, I hope they look around and see all of the competition that exists and then act accordingly.

I really miss the old days. Developers created games for fun, rather than profit. A proper community existed back in the day - it was active, there was always lots of news to write about. The community as it is now has evolved into that of a corporate nature - with the ability to release games via Steam/iOS/Android comes the lack of community interactivity as developers instead spend their time perfecting their games for commercial release, so more people are likely to buy them.

The imperfect stuff, we don't really see much more of anymore - and with competing software offering more features (aside perhaps from an ease of use) I really worry that Clickteam will forever be playing catch-up when it comes to Fusion 3 as the existing competitors fight with each other for market share by constantly updating their software with new features.

Plus, a lot of the old guard have moved on, while for new users there is so much choice out there already when it comes to game development software. I'll always advocate and love Clickteam, but they're going to be left far behind if they're not careful. I sincerely hope that's not the case

There still exist sites such as itch.io. Game Jams seem to be immensely popular. So there are still a lot of people who do it "just for fun". But the nature of the internet is so different now. Gone are the tight knit communities in forums/boards. People tend to favor large conglomerate sites like Reddit these days. I do miss the old days of this site and others. Simpler times.

The server died, and they previously said they'd ordered a new server and hoped to get it back up Monday 20th but that clearly didn't happen.

The Clickteam forum is back now with an updated forum at https://community.clickteam.com/ but some parts of the forum are suffering from "Access denied. You’re not authorized to view this page." errors. The Click Store is down with the error: "We apologize, but ClickStore is temporarily offline for maintenance. Please check back later".

I have noticed that, too. Yves talked about a F3 blog, will this start soon? By the way, does anyone think that F3 will come out next year or 2025? Will it even come out before 2030?

No sign of the F3 blog... BUT there was some discussion of Fusion 3 on the official Clickteam Discord. Just head over to #open-topic and look for 'from:simonthewazir' to find the exchange.

Thank you. But from what I was able to see, Simon keeps saying that he is not allowed to talk about Fusion 3? Why? No other company that I know of keeps their customers in the dark like this. I just see no reason what there can not be some reasonable disclosure. Yves said that the blog would come soon, yet that has a couple of months ago, this makes no sense to me.

I expect that it is primarily a combination of the following factors:
1. Wanting the hype to be built up just before release.
2. Not wanting to give rival developers information that could result in them 'stealing' Clickteam's best ideas.
3. Not wanting to raise expectations about things that don't ultimately make the cut.
4. Not wanting to make Fusion 3 seem so close that people don't buy Fusion 2.5(+).
5. Not wanting to take time away from development to consider what best to say and how best to say it to minimise the risks of the above.

Some companies will release information about releases a long time in advance. In some cases this is to build up hype, or to keep people from moving to a rival, to inform shareholders, and/or because they expect it would leak anyway (or perhaps it already had). However, some products are not announced until just before they are launched. For example, when Google announced Gmail beta on 1st April 2004 it took the world by surprise and many thought it was an April Fool's day joke.

That put light upon A LOT! I appreciate this, thanks. I just hope we have better news next year or at least SOME news.

Yeah, I'd like some news too. On the plus side, some of the things I was most looking forward to in F3 were included in F2.5+ which has definitely improved my development workflow.
