I read a post that they have been disabled, Thats pretty annoying really, cause I liked to include my nice small banner in my sig (looks good heh)- and I bet many others do too! - what I'm saying is please enable them again, but perhaps put a limit on how big they should be, that way we don't get any HUGE pics clogging up the forums..
I think Shadowcasters right in doing this. There were lots of people in the past who had obsenely HUGE signatures due to a giant image, and Ive told countless people to get rid of them.
well in that case maybe they could automatically be resized like the avatars. But then again, i kno nothing about html or web page design, so poo

i, too, am deeply distressed with regards to the images in sigs situation. i don't think mine was big or obtrusive, neither is jon's or joe's. surely its possible to do a size limit on them?
Yeah, pete's is not big at all, neithers mine, plus the fact that this is 'our' community and some of us have actually given money to keep it going, I think at least we should have a say on what happens to it (features etc..), maybe make it into a poll ie: next weeks..
Me, Circy, Wong Chung Bang and Shadowcaster seem to be the only people who agree with not having images in sigs. Which is fortunate, because most of those people are admins. I just think they make the page look ugly, make pages take longer to load, and most of all, they make it harder to read the page.
I hate it when a couple of people ruin something for everyone else, and that is exactly what has happened here. Just like Microsoft are closing their chat rooms because of the actions of a few people, I've disabled images from signatures because some people felt it nescessary to put massive images into their signature. You can still use images in your actual posts, I havent changed anything there. I will be adding the Bold, Italics and Underline tags back in a few minutes for signatures.

It's sad that people have forgotten the Warlording days and returned to inflicting everyone with their enormous banners. Personally, I'd just as soon see sigs removed altogether, because even text-only signatures are annoying if they're four times the length of the actual post content.

Big deal, you can't put images in your sig. It's not like a fancy image will make you a better person. The reason im saying this is probably because my pick would look rubbish! but anyway, get over it.

Thanks to the current poll we can all see that a fair number are on 56k. Maybe more customizable profiles would be a fair trade for removing sigs altogether?
Oh for crying out loud, you idiots seem to think that all the sigs are 1Mb+ in size and take up the entire page, well THEY DON'T, in fact if you look with your crappy eye's you'd see that most are small rectangular banners that hardly even take up 100kb, please stop whining and just put them back, as you can see most people do want them..
As I am on broadband they don't bother me at all, but I don't care that there gone either. It's another 1 of those things where you give someone a perfectly good thing and they'll still want to customise it. Windows XP looks ok and you'll still get no end to people using 3rd party software to give it there own twist (I gave it a go then the trail ended ). Once you have Pics back people will want special scripting langagues enable so they can built an interactive website into there sig or something.

We know they don't. But even the small images in sigs add up if everyone has them. Remember "a picture is worth 1000 words"? Well, in terms of KB taken up, that's certainly true. Ten users with 100KB sigs = Close to 1MB already.
