I want to get a car, I've had my licence for three years, but I can't afford insurance. I got a car waiting for me, a Polo, but it'll cost me about a grand for fully comp. In a fucking Polo. It's fucking rediculous.

Yeah, insurance is as costly as platinum truffles, but I'm sure the car you will eventually crash into will be worth 10x more than your Polo. Pray it isn't a HGV, an SUV, or an ASAP (speeding ambulance).

If I ended up paying a grand for insurance for a VW Polo, I'd be crashing into everything I could to get my money's worth.

I wouldn't even bother with insurance if only it wasn't against the law. Insurance is basically gambling; you're statistically more likely to waste a steady stream of money instead of earning anything.

Not bad. I wouldn't complain. Is it the 4 or 6 cylinder model you have?

I just killed my first car after 4.5 years of abuse. I used to beat it with poles, drove it off the side of a mountain, went four wheeling in it, all this from a 91 mazda sedan. And go figure, if it wern't for the piston seals going out, I'd still be beating the crap out of it. Have to say that I like my new car better though.

My car is hiding in this pic somewhere
http://www.gethyper.co.uk/btpc/13.jpg

Taken when I was testing my my bisscuit tin pc, to see if it would run of the car's 12v, of couse I had to network it to see if it was working and to shut it down, which ment running 18meters of cat5 out of my bedroom window to my 3com switch (worth quite a few pounds) at the bottom of the garden.

Yar we use 230v AC here. My biscuit tin pc has a DC-DC converter, so I could just wire it straight in to the cars 12v supply, didn't dare try to rev the car just left it idling. Yes it worked I could log in to the pc over my network.

Don't worry about it man, I didn't get my driver's liscense until about a month before I turned 17. I know a few people who are 18 and still don't drive.
