I've been against the whole notion of the click community dying, TDC going down, etc... every time someone brought up the topic. I mean, the DC certainly isn't all that the community is. The Click Community certainly isn't just about the DC; it's about the kliking in general. There's so much more, like Total Klik, Klik-Me, and #k&p, the only major groups left out there besides the Clickteam forums.

And lately, I honestly think that all the major groups (besides CT and Klik Academy) suck. The Daily Click (especially the forums and GOTW) is just a joke these days. Klik-Me and TK are just full of idiots. #k&p's also been overrun by idiots ever since it 'moved' to Blitzed.

Technologically, I believe that we can make games that'll make those Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo games look like utter crap. But mentally... ugh... just look around. People either talk about imitated, retarded, mindless crap or are so goddamn elitist they look down upon anyone weaker than them (specially the newbies).

80% of the hardcore clickers are just wasting their time. Even the most skilled of clickers (cept maybe Tigerworks). The bad ones are just discouraging the newbies and the decent clickers. The pros are just idling around the forums or trying to make the next uber-complex, but boring games like ED or TSE.

I've been in the Click Community since 1998, and the only time it looked this bad was when Click Cafe went down. At least back then I could seek refuge at #k&p. Good thing Click Island is around nowadays.

EDIT: Forgive the aggressive tone. I just get a bit mentally unstable once a month.

ED and TSE weren't boring. I would agree on most everything else.

Yeah, I meant comparatively boring. I've seen much more fun games made by average clickers in just a few weeks. TSE and ED were repetitive and a bit too tough. I don't mind tough games, but fighting the same bosses dozens of times is a real turn-off (damn that Hume). And all that waling around empty space gets boring as well.

Eternal Daughter dazzled the eye, but was the most boring hunk of crap to play. I can't believe I gave it the review I did... damn my stupid noob days.

Paul is right, except its only your perspective on the community that is changing. It hasn't died or become more crap.

Not many clickers are very serious about game development. That's probably why there's a lot of crap. It's easy to use click products, and thus, it becomes extremely easy for the inexperienced ones to post crappy games.

For the past few years, every month or two someone declares the Klik community dead/dying.
You get used to it I suppose... we're still here, after countless proclamations of the community's death.
Thing is, places like the Clickteam Forums, game company sites like mine, etc. etc. will always keep going and still be going. The Daily Click is still running, and IMO, successfully.

I concur. The click community is dying, that's why I left off clicking and frankly I intend on leaving the whole community by the end of the year.

90% of the people are just so immature it insults me to think I share the same basic genes.

This must be where the vast majority of earth's retards flock, I mean look at it. There are less nuts in a fruitcake factory.

I should hope so too, I want fruitcake, not nutcake >=(

I don't think the Click community is dying... well, no more than the rest of the world, anyway. Gone are the days when 12-year-olds were vaguely mature, and 6-year-olds would be offended if someone swore instead of offending others.

The world is cyclic. It's just a phase, in a year we'll wish there was another Fire to make us all laugh.

"in a year we'll wish there was another Fire to make us all laugh."

i hope not chris

i wouldn't say the community is dying... changing maybe, but not dying. as clickteam software becomes more popular and gets a larger user base, so too will DC and other sites. and as DC is popular with newbies we well get more and more of them, so you may see an increase in "newbish" behaviour, but it's all proportional: i'm sure we'll get more sensible members as well, but just more newbies than them.

Dines, I'm here to post my games, not be mature.

Well, I suppose in a sense the community is dying, if you consider dying to mean "changing". Clicking is only going to keep getting more popular especially if MMF 2 does as well as Clickteam hopes it will (they are trying to get MMF 2 into stores.). It is certainly not dying in the literal sense of the word.

Also, the quality of the game is actually going up. Yes most games are still bad, but some of the ones released in the last few years have been VERY good. While many people may say ED is "overrated" I see no justification for such a statement. You kind of know that a game is special when it gets a 10/10 at Gamehippo (Gamehippo is the biggest freeware game reviews site on the internet) AND it gets featured on the frontpage of Gamehippo AND one of the editors said its one of his top ten freeware games of all time.

The Spirit Engine is another great game, although I can see why some people might not like it. It is extremely hardcore, but if you actually play through the whole thing you will see that it has a very in depth combat system and a pretty decent storyline to boot. Still if its not your cup of tea I can see why. It's kind of hard to deny however, that the Spirit Engine is the best click RPG of all time by far, and is easily in the top ten best click games of all time.

Really though, in the past, no games came from the click community that were of the caliber of ED or TSE. I am not even mentioning some other great games such as Lost Valley. Maybe the amount of "idiots" has increased but the quality of the games has certainly gone up.

99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.

I am going to miss you all when the Click community is dead.

When is this happening again?
