Hey guys,
I am very interested in the selling opportunities of games created in klik.
Obviously there are many options that can be taken such as the simple DIY marketing schemes etc, but does anybody know anything about the next stage...
THE BIG DEVELOPERS
One could only wish that there creation could be good enough to be the next GBA craze, do any of you know what kind of steps would have to be taken in order to advertise to these companies + include any references to good GBA developers willing to buy ideas.
Pease, if you have something considered useful then post quickety quick, if you just post for no apparent reason then please spam some other board away from this site that has time for you vermins.
Ok, finishing on a good note, I am sure saome of you have this kind of knowledge out there, or have the ability to refer all of us that crowd around and wait for a reply

You probably can't get your game published by a big developer. They are interested in big 3D games. However, many smaller publishers will publish small 2D games which can be made with MMF. I know Real Arcade at http://www.realarcade.com/?src=rg_game-null&mode=spnav publishes these types of games, and sells them online.
They even say they will publish a game written in any langauge, so they don't care if it's created using C++ or MMF. Your game does have to be very high quality though to be accepted.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.

For a 2d click game, your best bet is to sell it to a magazine.

Idigicon are the prime publishers of Blitz 2d/3d games and I've seen quite a lot of them in shops like PC world (I've bought one on the odd occasion too, and they've turned out good). Whether they publish Klik games I don't know, but most of their clients are amateur game developers.

Do make sure that your games are up to standard before selling them. I used to think my games were marketable enough before discovering this site, where many of the games have demonstrated how truly useless I am by comparison.

In that case, go ahead, as far as I'm concerned. Some people are against it because it goes against the "hobby" idea of Click... but if you've got the talent, you might as well make use of it.

I want sombody to try, so we can all see what happens. I know I have seen some MMF games sold, but it didnt look like they were selling. If lilmouse makes a fair amount of money (Enough to make it worth your time) I will be more interested. Let us know how it goes if you decide to sell lilmouse.

about the hobby aspect:
Most people would class making games as a hobby. we all have a choice when it comes to developing games, though I will choose what my game(s) will be for when they are complete. It is obviously quite hard to sell these types of games nowadays due mainly to the fact that people dont care much for the decent games anymore and their brains are fried by the latest and greatest football game or racing game, many decent platoformers have been disreguarded as s**t and not very many people want to play them UNLESS of course they are on a GBA cartridge (weird eh!) though making roms isn't the hardest of things, being able to fund for the official Nintendo DEV kit and to fund for the hardware to copy these, labelling and packaging all adds up to a huge amount of money also with the uncertainty of the game selling well which can leave you in major debt - scary - well I think thats a big enough essay from me, keep your comments comming

I have always hoped that I would be able to sell games, but right now my games are far from sellible. Also, I don't really know if selling MMF games is a good idea. Sadly, you can't sell 2D games anymore. But I think its alway's worth a try!

I hate when people complain about other people selling their games just because they are made in 'klik' software. Especially if the person who is selling the game is serious and has a nice quality product. I would go with doing everything yourself. www.esellerate.com is a good site to help you along with the 'process', but all the marketing and stuff should be done by you. Especially with just one or two people working on a project, you can get screwed over too easily.

More and more publishers who used to take 2D games don't anymore, they want 3D games now, or at least games created in a true 3D enviroment. There are still some 'smaller' publishers who take 2D games, but they're really looking for good queality/good playable/original games. To create those can be quite a challenge. I've seen quite a number of good click games but some of the prices just aren't right at all. You can pick up great games like Empire Earth, Age of kings and so on for 10 euros (less then $10) or even less and then to ask $20 or more for a click game, that seems absurd.
Anyway it is possible to sell click games through your website or through a publisher, some of my click games are being sold in stores in Europe, USA and the Middle East (through a publisher).
