This place is still good...why do you think i'm still here? No, seriously?
To me TDC is a place mainly full of people who share something in common, and that is a love for games and their creation in particular. Of course the fact of the matter is that people have lives besides Klikin and gaming, and, inturn, hinders the time they have to be making games.
Basically DC has its good times and bad times. Sometimes the place is crawling with lots of people making games or playing them...and others there's hardly a soul at work and the games per week or possibly the quality goes down. But shit happens man.
The way I see it you live with these 'boring' phases...or fuck off. Simple.
I like where DC is goin, even if at times it IS boring, or there's not much happening in the forums or good games out, but there are more and more good games coming out, there are more members that can benefit from my years of experience, there's new developments in Klik software that will mean bigger and better things to come...as a well known Australian cleaning products saleman says "I'm excited!"
But yeah...in conclusion...stop complaining...peace out!

Yeah i'm pretty much over it. I wrote that about 10 'o clock after a fight with a friend. Sorry if I offended anyone, and to Pete: What makes you think I was talking about you?
I agree, clicking makes things sooo easy it is very simple for a complete noob to go out and just make a thrown together pong game and call himself the greatest clicker that ever lived. Hmm there is a thought....... (Yes I didnt say herself becuase I don't think there ARE any female clickers....)
Face it. The DC isn't really part of the Click Community anymore. The Click Community consits of stuff like CT's Knowledge Base, Klik Academy, Klik-Me, Total Klik, Natomic, Acoders, FA Ind., Click Island and all the other hardcore klikers who spend their lives into making games.
TDC is now more like... a veteran's guild. Basically, veterans just hang out here, pick fights with other veterans, pretend to be veterans, or just take care of the little young 'uns (AKA noobs). It's hardly about Clicking anymore. It's just about well... doing stuff you don't do in real life.
And don't bring up the female clickers thing. I've come to the conclusion that about 75% of the Click Community consists of nerds who either run or get uber-pissed off at the reminder that girls exist. I still stand by my opinion that girls make excellent clickers and I have the games and the HTML/mIRC/MSNM archives on my HDD to back it up. But that's not the point. (though strangely enough, I've never met a female clicker who has ever made a pong game)

I never made a pong game either. Wanted to, but well, I never got to model the people in it right. The chick the main character was interested in just wasn't sexy enough.
Hmm... am I the only person who puts secret moves and 3D animated cutscenes in a pong game? I mean in non-Japanese freeware.

Veterans? OK, name me ten people who regularly come here that could be classed as 'veterans'; and by that I mean people who have actually been making games a long time, not just people who never make anything, just keep posting saying how great their next game is going to be so they can pretend to be superior to a bunch of people they've never even met. Those aren't veterans.
"And don't bring up the female clickers thing" - You JUST DID.
TDC is, and always will be, part of the greater Click community. Any site that Clickers visit for Click related things is part of the Click community. TDC obviously falls in to that category.
And IMO the community is very effective. We have some very talented artists, coders, musicians etc. around - you name it, someone here can do it. Whenever someone finishes a game and releases it, there's an army of critics (usually) constructively making comments on how to improve the game. So someone looking for how to improve their game can very efficiently receive excellent feedback. The only next step is to aim a little higher, and to try and get games outside the click community and in to the wider world - I submitted 2 really small apps (BackupX and Download Resumer) to Tucows as a kind of experiment... they both got accepted, and have over 90% popularity! (Apparently Tucows have now increased the minimum rating to get on to the site though... whether or not that's a consequence of BackupX/Download Resumer I don't know but still, many high-quality apps/games here could still be accepted...) It's not that hard to get your work further out. Most end users don't know/care if you made it in TGF, Multimedia Fusion, Dark Basic or C++.
And perhaps some people have got it the wrong way round. Has the whole community got boring, or have you got bored of the community?
Could YOU do something to change that?
