WORST nightmare? I fear dark (go ahead and laugh...). And especially two eyeballs which stare at me from darkness and come closer and closer...

Seriously now, this may sound weird, but my worst recurring nightmare is the one where I am in a world of pale yellow and pink, and there are these huge poles which I keep knocking over with my finger outstretched. I am getting more upset all the time, but the mayor of this world keeps giving me medals - but I can't stop knocking over the poles, and I end up waking up and crying.

Another bad dream is the one where a huge pale orange solid block is closing in on me and it just surrounds me.

And they are my ACTUAL DREAMS, not made up ones.

I forget my nightmares... they don't recur, although quite often they involve the destruction of the world in some way. And I always 'wake up', only to have the same nightmare. I guess that's because I know dreams aren't real, and if I wake up then I think it is real and get scared

i love dreams. havnt had a good nightmare since i was 14 though and it was pretty damn scary but everytime i talk about it seems so pathetic...

my cousin Stef took me to some remote island in the middle of the sea. really small little thing but it had a cave that went underground, the entrance was surrounded by flaming torches. inside the walls of the cave were full of pubs and there were loads of people there. so i walked on, and eventually came to a dead end and i've forgotten this bit, but i start to walk back and everyone had died and there were just skeletons all around! but i was lost in this cave.

ive got this other dream which was both nightmaric and inspiring and every other semi-big word that arists use. but thats a long story

The only one I really remember was having my "house", which was more a complex of elevated path ways, very Escher-esque, invaded by bandits with knifes and sticks of dynamite while I slept. Sounds really funny now-a-days, but I was young at the time.

In one nightmare, I was fighting a piece of muscular stinky cheese, a giant moldy blueberry, and a fire-breathing steak. For some reason there was an ATB battle gauge at the bottom of my POV. I tried to pull a combo on them to defeat them...and it worked. But then a bunch of sprites of guys in white and gold robes marched into a nuclear incineration chamber and then sucked me in. Next moment, I was incinerated by nuclear flames and a loud rush ,and I woke up.

I have two reccuring dreams
1: We appear to be in some sort of backyard with other children and then are adults sitting on small pillars with beams of light shining down on them. These are the gods and the physics of this world are very strange, the ground has many wine bottles on it and the fences are made of a metal.

2:We start in the upstairs of my house and there are lots of pipes, my dream turns into a sort of 2D and you can see the sides of the pipes and people laying new ones down. Eventually I look back at the door that goes downstairs and there is a small table. The table has a glass with a red flower in it and there is a letter on the table. I open the letter.........

And my best dream would probabley be where the world was made of bouncy castle material as far as you could see. I climbed this massive ladder up to a plane and then I jumped off and fell for 1KM before hitting the bouncy ground and speeding off somewhere else.

Confessions about dreams:
I have never dreamt about flying.
I often dream in 2D\cartoons

EDIT
There is a technique called lucid dreaming, which is when you dream but you know you are dreaming. I have had this happen to me before and it is so much fun because you can manipulate the world around you.

The scariest one I've had was something about me having to fight with this guy in some heavy dark metal armor. Wouldn't normally be scary, but the thing is that it felt so real. I could feel my sword bouncing off his armor, could hear that scary deep laugh, and worse of all, every time he hit me with that armored fist, it actually hurt. It was like thing in Nightmare on Elm Street where the bruises I took from my dream was there in real life. I woke up just as that guy was about to finish me off.

The good thing at least was that it inspired my Combatant game and it's been my main motivator to finish that VR console, or at least the surround-sound headgear. I'd put a monitor on that headgear thing if only people didn't keep telling me that it would spoil people's eyesight :|.

I really don/t't remember many of my nightmares. The one I remember the best was where all these zombies came out of the closet in my room and attacked me. I had another where I got stabbed, but I don't remember what happened before that.
My coolest dream was where Mr. Pinciotti (from that 70's show) was a Jew who had been studying "killer radar guns" that used instant replay to kill people. I learned how to fly and I eventually teamed up with the robot from Wavetwisters. The only problem with that dream is that my family died in it (on a highway).

One of the only nightmares I can remember is that the space ships of "space invaders" landed on earth and destroyed everyone. With real blood and pixel shots .

Oh, and there was a nightmare in which I just walked on a bridge, when it opened. I would fall down a few kilometers before I woke up.

Yeah that lucid dreaming thing happened to me, but I couldn't keep it up and I woke up.

On another, similar note, has anyone here tried mediatating? I mean proper mediatation, sitting for hours without moving a muscle. After an hour or so, I cannot feel my body, and it's as though I can look down on myself from the ceiling. It's probably on of the weirdest, but most enjoyable sensations you can have. Also, after about an hour (I don't know how long exactly), but I can make any part of my body tingle or feel numb, just by telling myself to.

My worst dream happens right as I'm falling asleep, so I'm only half asleep, It feels like whatever I'm laying on just opens up and I start to fall so I physicly put my arms and legs out to the side to grab onto the edge to keep from falling. By that time I'm wide awake and my body is full of adrinaline so I can't get back to sleep for another thirty minutes. It's really anoying. :/

One dream I used to keep having was where I kept killing my family and eating as much of their bodies as I could but I was always full before I started eating my sister. It sounds fucking weird but I was never scared in those dreams, it was just dark and bizarre. And they always wanted to die.

Worst nightmare? I dunno, usually the ones where I'm being chased by something but my feet have no traction or I just can't open my eyelids and see what's after me or where I'm going.

i once dreamt this guy was talk to me, like a tour guide would. Showing me around and stuff. We quickly got to a point where he showed me 3 small pits with different colored acid in each. Each pit also had a skeleton that had gotten its skin burned away, and these skeletons were screaming. Also, there was a spider web made of acid (heh), also with a skeleton in it.

The tour guide asked me to pick which one i wanted to go in.

The funny thing is, this dream made it feel like a normal everyday thing...

Snerlin, you've spent to much time kliking.

Hmmm...scary dream... The oldest dream I remember was when I was three...a coat hanger attack me. I must have been really screwed up.
I remember a dream where there were giant spiders on some playground (I was in 4th grade. They were chewing up all of the children. Again, I'm screwed up.
But a recent dream was with zombies or something...I think it was just after I saw Dawn of the Dead (remake). They were chewing on me. I woke up, and it was like a joke.

"There is a technique called lucid dreaming, which is when you dream but you know you are dreaming."

i get that all of the time, i even decided to jump out of my bedroom window knowing i was dreaming and i just hit the ground on my chest and got up again sounds weird but i didnt know if i was dreaming but i obviously wouldnt jump out the window if i was awake. Once i tried to really focus on a door handle in a dream to see how realistic they are but i usually start to wake up and never get a good look.

i used to have nightmares about tigers/dogs attacking me, it wasnt scary really but i couldnt hurt it properly like pucnhing and kicking was like trying to run in dreams.

I don't know, in my nightmares (that I seem to be having every other week) I am in a school bus that is falling off a cliff. It hits the ground, and I die. I end up walking around dead in my dream, which is usually spent trying to get people to see me.

I have died over 6 times by now, so my body fucntions should be working in reverse now. Is this a problem?

....whatever .. anyways, about lucid dreaming. I remember, not so long ago, i was at some party or something. Then i went outside and talked to some girl and she wanted me to do something but i was like "i'm sorry i can't do that, my dream is ending now" and i was wooshed away into the sky while still looking towards the ground..the dream ended after that.

Its funny that in my dreams i often go into my back garden and jump over the fence into my neighbours gardens, sometimes it seems dangerous to do so (i might get caught by them) and in others i can jump really high onto the roof of my house (which is a terrace) but it is always so misterious and exiting when im doing it and it never looks the same as it does in real life.

Last night I had this dream about a guy alone in a zoo (in daylight!) who was slowly killing the animals. He killed a few, either by stamping on their heads or otherwise, and then he was singing to a song while he shot an elephant down - he didn't kill it, but it looked in real pain and its head and body were bleeding. He continued singing really loudly for a while and then put the elephant out of his misery. He walked to another part of the zoo and I saw a crocodile on the grass trying to get away from him... I woke up, and the song he was singing to was on my radio alarm clock :|

I wasn't in the dream myself or in any form, merely a passive spectator, but still it was very weird. I quite often do that, usually with something horrific/violent :/

Nightmares? I haven't had a few of them for quite a long time now (I reakon around when I was 9?).

I can only remember two of my nightmares. In the first one I was playing in my bedroom when I heard this constant "tapping" (as if on a keyboard), I yelled "shut up" and the typing stopped, but after a few seconds I heard the loudest noise and it kept on going.
I woke up, and could still hear it for a few seconds.

The second one is this monster which appears out of no where in my dreams. Meh, I couldn't be bothered describing it.

Has anyone ever dreamed of swimming underwater? And when they try to return to the surface its like a glass wall?

Confessions:
I only dream out of 1st person.
