Alrighty, everyone. I made some progress. I've decided not to implement some of the more crazy ideas such as round splotches levels or multi-layered-levels at this time. () Most of the core programming is done, except for the level editor (working on that) and a few tweaks here and there. The level editor is going to be a very integral part of the game, however, so it may be awhile yet. Anyway, here's a few screenies of the title screen and the new color of walls on the levels. The letters and logo are now animated, as you can tell by the squashed-ness. They look pretty good. I'll probably make a preview vid soon. Oh, also, just to give you a general idea of how close it is to being done, if I were to skip the level editor and just recreate the old levels from the Compo Edition of Splotches, I could release it. (I did make the original in 2 days. ) However, I want you to be able to make levels and download new ones from my site, so just bear with me.
Johan Hargne has also made a genius soundtrack for the game that fits perfectly! Thanks man!
Comments and critiques, please!
EDIT: Voice tutorial is now finished. Spent the morning making it. On a humorous side note, the padre loved it so much that he went back to the old compo version so he could play more levels!
