While waiting for the new graphics, I've been experimenting with a few concepts, both for Splotches and other projects. One of these experiments is online play.
So while the above is very very incomplete, just a rough engine, it could turn into another gameplay mode. I'd like to know what you think! We (meaning Jon Lambert and I) have a few fun ideas for both cooperative and competitive online play, but I'd like to know what your ideas are. Or even if it's worth pursuing. Leave a comment!
Oh also, rest assured that the one player gameplay mode still takes precedence in importance. I'm just experimenting while I wait for new graphics.
Minor update: maVado has informed me that progress on the new graphics has been temporarily postponed because of electric power issues!
Could you not implement an online battle style game mode where after you create an explosion of 3 or more colours (just a rough number) your opponent gets random splotches added to their screen???
Sorry if i have completely misunderstood the whole concept of the game!!
Thanks for the comments guys! And lembi2001, though I'm not sure what you mean by the three-color-explosion, having a battle mode where you deter your opponent by things like adding random splotches or spreading random splotches is something we had in mind.
How about a turn-based mode where there are two different rainbow splotches, one for each player, and whoever's rainbow splotch gets blown up first loses?
A Bust-a-move like battle mode like Limbi's where you can save up Battle Points or something to choose what your opponent gets thrown at them would be fun! You could choose a wall, a splotch that you can only get if it's thrown at you, and other stuff to throw at your opponent!
