Here's this week's weekend update.
Most of the time I had this week went into adding the options section in the main menu of the game. In the Options, you can define custom controls (either for keyboard or for a gamepad), and change sound (and eventually music) volume.
I learned a lot while working on the above features, which feels great.
Also, I added save points, and a basic savegame feature. Along with savegames came a bunch of bugs, which took me a bit to squash as well. Things are looking good now though. I tried grinding the first five levels several times with the same character, until I found a relatively awesome hammer and got some nice stats, enough to kill some of the basic enemies with one swing. Level 8 character it was, I think. xP Doing all the grinding made me realize that I really need to start adding more items and stuff to do in the levels.
Thus, I did some more planning on the armor crafting idea I thought of earlier, and I think that I finally came up with a setup that should satisfy the conditions I set up for armor a little while back. I'm yet to begin working on it though, but who knows where I get by next weekend.
Ahh, right, and a few days back I was looking for a composer for Twisted Tower. I ended up giving the task to Strife, after he expressed his interest. His style, based on what I've heard so far, seems to match my visions for the soundtrack, so I'm looking forward to his contribution. Check out some of his games too. He's a winner. Literally.
That's all for now. Until next time.
