Slow times

Summer tends to do this. I haven't progressed with the development as planned, though there's still been some progress since last update, like new spells, new weapon bonuses, new consumables and materials, and of course a bunch of fixes and tweaks, primarily thanks to a very very dedicated tester, Del Duio, who keeps picking up even the tiniest of issues and bringing them to my attention on almost daily basis.

There's also a new dungeon crawling element called Treasuries. These are dead-end rooms, locked by a magical gate. The gate can be opened with a magic key found somewhere on the same dungeon floor. However, there's a catch. The key must be picked up as soon as you discover it, or it will disappear after a brief moment. The key itself also has a time limit, and after picking it up the key must be brought to the locked gate, or the key will disappear. The difficulty of this task can vary a lot, as you could at worst start a floor right next to the key, having no idea where the gate is. Will you risk running around, possibly taking a lot of damage from enemies and hazards, just to get to the gate in time? It might be worth it, because the rooms tend to have three high-quality item spawns and possibly even general goodies.

I'm suspecting the development will stay slow until the end of July, as I'm off to a vacation for a week in mid-July, and I have a lot of other stuff to take care of before that.

Expect the next update in a month or so. :3

Sweet, the Treasuries sound (sort of) like the Treasure Goblins from Diablo 3, in the sense that they can cause you to put yourself in danger to reap more guaranteed rewards. That progress meter is filling up nicely... can't wait for this one!

Rick:
That's where I got the idea from, to be honest. Or at least the general concept of there being a time-based Risk&Reward situation. The treasure goblin idea in itself could be a fun addition to Twisted Tower too, in fact, and far more challenging if the enemy would spawn from walls or something, and you had no time to plan for it at all. There's already an enemy in Catacombs that behaves suitably, jumping around, leaping from walls and so forth. If that enemy ran away from player instead of towards... yeah, I think I should try that too. Could be fun.
