So since we have this new DC arcade coming up, maybe we make a DC arcade game instead? That would be cool, right? It'd also give the admins to implement the multiple user credit feature...
So anyway, let's brainstorm ideas on how we want to change the game. It's no longer going to be so story-driven or open-ended, as that's a bit complicated. It doesn't even have to be a platforming game anymore. We just need to come up with an idea that is short, enjoyable, but allows for expansion and replayability. When I say expansion, I mean that it should be something that could be expanded into a full-fledged game for submission.
I'm thinking that maybe we make a DC arcade game where there are about 5 timed levels that you must get through as quick as you can, while you can also go to hidden little rooms to get items for points or find secret areas with points, kill enemies and do trick (such as flips in the air) and at the end you touch the flag and go to the next level or fight a boss.
First image: Run man! You're being timed!
Second: Grab some grapes! Can't make Welch's grape juice without grapes.
Third: KILL HIM!
Fourth: Get the flag!
Fifth: Having time left got me points, getting items got me points, killing things got me points, doing tricks got me points, finding secret areas got me points... What didn't get me points?
Love that idea! Maybe in place of a double jump, you jump a little higher, but do a flip as well. And that gets you points. Reminds me of Fancy Pants. If we could get an artist that can create something similar to FP, that would be awesome! That Welch's comment was funny. I would probably have fun programming this. You could keep that level editor, and release it a while after you release this game, as part of that expansion idea. If this game gets enough public interest, we could have a little community based around creating levels, just like what Nifflas has!
I think this is going to go way better than the previous idea.
