The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: M-84
Well, here goes, my first DC Review. M-84 Presentation: When I start the game, I see this annoying screen at the start that says "Created and Designed by Mladen Lazic". It stays there for 10 seconds and is unskipable. Not much of a Presentation there. You don't even get a mission briefing. Gameplay: It's a little weird. You have to shoot with the A key, not with the Shift/Ctrl key. Basically all you do is you shoot tanks. The enemies have poorly designed AI. Firstly, all they do is look at 0,0 from you, and shoot at random times. Secondly, if a wall separates you and the enemy, the enemy still shoots. :/ The gameplay is boring, the playarea is too big, and there are no LCD Displays! I can't see my health/ammo without LCD Displays! Let’s put it this way: I have to go a long way through this tunnel that I think is the correct route, and I waste all the time just to pick up health and ammo, which I don’t know how much I have. One other thing I found. I pressed the S key because I was looking for a secondary weapon. I hear this voice: "Ammunition Extended" which I don't get the point of. I kept fooling with the S key making it say "Ammunition Extended Ammu Ammuni Ammunition Extended" and I'm shooting an enemy. Then I get a message saying "Mission Failed". I had no clue why it was failed either. Graphics: Not the best around. Most objects: the trees, the rocks, the health packs, etc. are from the TGF libs. The tanks look hand-drawn, and aren't bad either. Sound and Music: The author didn't bother to check the box that said "Multi-Samples" so whenever I shoot like crazy, all the other sounds get cut off. The voice samples aren't the best of quality, but I suppose that's because it's an army game. When you killed an enemy, it would play a low quality sample: “AAAH!” And the music, well, there wasn’t any music but the wav file on the title screen. Lastability: I didn't really bother to play it more. I played once and that's probably it. Overall: You probably wouldn't want to download this. Could use lots of improvements. I’m sorry to tell you this Mladen Lazic, but you’ll have to try harder if you want to catch up with today's standards in the click world.
