Well, based on the first village, I thought I was really going to like this one. It's apparent that the author put some effort into little touches, like going into houses and talking to people. I like the sumo mini game a lot. It's not ground-breaking stuff, but not a lot of people take the time to build atmosphere. Unfortunately, once the actual adventuring starts, the fun stops. For one thing, you play as just about the least adept ninja in the history of video gaming. He swings his sword kind of casually, as if to say, "I don't really give a rat's ass if that bird pecks me to death." It's easy to understand why he'd have such a bleak outlook, since the future has a lot of falling off of things in store for him. Basically, you do a lot of jumping around, and when the wind picks up, you get blown off, and you get to either climb back up and do it all over again, or quit playing. As I am not a masochist, I chose the latter. The game has a serviceable prologue; another ultimate bad guy has come to wreak havoc upon the world. He may be playing the keyboard, too, because that MIDI song is wreaking havoc on my mind. Somebody tell Johnny Freestyle to quit hitting the bottle before he hits the ivories. You won't notice the sound effects, which are neither good nor bad. This game has a lot going for it: good graphics, a nice hero (who doesn't like ninjas?), and great atmosphere. If it were more about a ninja whipping ass, and a whole lot less about jumping around and falling off of things, it would be a much better game.
