The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: Thuginit
A'ight, innit! No, this is actually in da USAiiiii. Thuginit is an adventure game where you control a thug, and make him do...thuggish things. Your thug isn't too clever though, since he is wearing neither elasticated shorts or a belt. This means that his pants fall down. Oh, the hilarity. Did I miss something? It's not indecent exposure either, unless he's going commando. (And if he was, you wouldn't see this on Daily Click! ) Presentation: It's OK, has the thuggish feel but also has the aliased feel - blocky and ugly. Not very responsive either, as you don't immediately notice the Play/Credits buttons and the in-game money/style counters are rubbish. Oh well. I don't mind too much so I'm giving it 6/10. Gameplay: Very simple - you press right, press Control every few seconds, occasionally press spacebar to knock something over and a few letters to talk to people or do things. It's not the most exciting of games, is it? The driving level isn't much better either: you have to follow a car and repeatedly press Shift to fire bullets at it. Hit the car, and you bounce away (annoying if you're near the edge of the screen). Obviously there hasn't been a lot of time invested in the game engine - instead, it're more about the story, and that's short enough as it is. To be honest, it's far too easy but there's enough humour to JUST scrape a 5/10. Graphics: Black outlines. No shading. However, the backgrounds are sufficiently detailed to earn 4/10. Sound and Music: Sound for most things (breaking something, guns, clicking the wooden blocks). Different music for all of the levels, including gangster music (Dr. Dre) on the second level... however, it didn't really do a lot for me, and the only thing you really notice is the music. 4/10 Lastability: It's a short game. Far too short. I completed it within 10 minutes. Will I play it again? Nope! Where's Uninstall.exe? 1/10 Overall: It's an original idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The game should be longer and more involving. As it is, it's easy and short. If you make a sequel, give it some difficulty at least! 4/10
