The Daily Click ::. Downloads ::. Review Review: Milber 2
For those who are fans of the original (like me), you'll love this game, at least while it lasts. Milber 2 is a high-quality platformer game that incorporates the solid furry engine and some great graphics from Rhys Davies. Presentation: The game is fairly well presented, with a fitting title screen and an out-of-the-way status area. It looks fairly professional. Gameplay: The gameplay isn't very varied, with the whole game being a platformer, with a single control besides movement, and that's shoot. The lack of a duck control seems surprising, considering how hard the later enemies get (especially the rapid-firing ones). The enemies have a basic AI but it works well, and the bosses all have a different attack pattern and weakness, so that's a good point. There's also a point in the game where you choose which way you go, adding some variation and replayability to the game. Graphics: The graphics are original and, in my opinion, quite well done. They're drawn with a distinct style that's kept consistent for the whole game. The backgrounds are fitting and the level graphics are moody and well designed. The animations are smooth, though somewhat limited in frames. The author has obviously put some time in the creation of the graphics. Sound and Music: The sounds become monotonous after a while, when you keep hearing the shooting and dying sounds, but there's not very many events that should have a sound in this game so that can be overlooked. The sounds fit the characters well, and the music in each level is well-suited. Lastability: The game has a part where you can choose which way you go, adding some value to the lastability because you can go back after finishing it and go the other way. After that, though, there's not too much to keep you coming back. It's also quite short. Overall: Milber 2 is a great, fun little platformer that is pretty compelling to start with, but doesn't have too much in it to inspire another game once you've finished it besides the multiple path option. It's well designed, and although the story isn't too imaginative, it doesn't affect the quality of this gaming gem too much. Recommended for fans of Milber or Furry, or anyone who wants a day or three's gaming without too much complexity.
