MIG2, the creator of the famous klik-game "Lost Valley", has done it again with this fantastic side-scrolling shooter game called "Last Defender".

>>>PRESENTATION: 7

No matter how you look at it, Last Defender feels like a professional, Super Nintendo-ish game. The intro movie is nice, and explains the story very well. As for the actual game, the cutscenes between levels are a nice edition and allow the story to flow smoothly.

>>>GAMEPLAY: 10

Pure, side-scrolling FUN! In each level, you must blast dozens of enemies while dodging incoming projectiles. There are TONS of really cool weapons and powerups you can collect.

What's even more interesting is the Hunter feature. Your ship can fire "hunters" that will absorb the enemies' weapons, so that you can use them yourself! This adds even more diversity to an already impressive array of weaponry. All-in-all, the combat in this game is so diverse that it makes Super Ken Senshi look like a dinky arcade shooter.

The action in each level is pretty intense. You'll find yourself dodging all kinds of enemy missles and floating objects that block your path. The end-of-level bosses are absolutely awesome.

The only downside is the difficulty. Last Defender may be too hard for some people. Nevertheless, the gameplay in Last Defender is, by far, some of the best i've seen in a side-scrolling klik game.

>>>GRAPHICS: 9

At first, I thought the graphics were ripped. But, to my suprise, they were all original graphics! Anyway, the enemy graphics are cool, and the backgrounds are absolutely stunning, especially since MIG2 implented paralax scrolling (yay!).

>>>SOUND AND MUSIC: 5

Like all of MIG2's games (so far), the sound department is neglected. There are a few good sound effects, but they could have been improved. And although the music is ripped, it fits great with the rest of the game.

>>>LASTABILITY: 6

Some gamers may stop playing after a few tries, but if you actually take the time to get good at playing Last Defender, it'll have you hooked for a long while. Just give it a chance!

>>>OVERALL: 10

No doubt about it; Last Defender is MIG2's finest creation in the Daily Click community. Kudos to you, Mig. As always, we all look forward to your future projects.
