Noitu Love and the Army of Grinning Darns, or simply Noitu Love, is a very well-polished, well-executed example of handiwork. I have had to remind myself several times that this game had been made using Multimedia Fusion, not by a professional coder. Presentation: Simply wonderful. The game looks like it belongs in an arcade box somewhere in a well-to-do pizzeria. As I have stated before, the game looks as if it were made by a group of expert programmers. Everything about this comes together and forms something quite remarkable. 9/10. Gameplay: Fast and addictive, just the way a lot of arcade dwellers like it. This game has everything an arcade game has, even the broken English! While the action can get repetitive at times, the addition of the Evomatic to evolve or devolve you into certain forms more than makes up for it. 9/10. Graphics: Not bad at all. The graphics are nicely done help emulate the appearance of a true arcade game. The parallax scrolling backgrounds, tile warp effects, particle effects, and other features really add to the experience. The main (and only) problem this game has in regards of graphics is that the artist seems to have "switched" styles while creating the art. The game's sprites looks like they come from an NES game, while the tilesets and backgrounds look as if they're from an SNES game. The particle effects also add some disreprency. However, this is not a major problem, and you will most likely barely notice it. 8/10. Sound and Music: Another high point of this game is the soundtrack it comes with. The music is a great help in establishing the atmosphere, a necessary component in many games, especially arcade games like this one. The sounds used also help a lot too; the cackle of the Grim Reaper in level 3 made me jump the first time I heard it. 8/10. Lastability: Unfortunately, this is one of the shallow points of the game. This level simply has too few levels. The extras added help prolong the life, but this game really needs some more areas to fight in. Perhaps a Noitu Love 2 with more levels, or an expansion pack? This is one of the areas that needs improvement. 6/10. Overall: In my opinion, this is a shining example of not just the Klik community, but indie gaming in general. While the lack of levels and repetitiveness does this game no favors, the way the pieces fit together creating something purely beautiful. Not since Eternal Daughter have we seen an indie game so complete. 9/10.
