Ok, I've now got Halo 2, and I must say that while it's a great game, it doesn't offer a hell of a lot more than the first Halo. Some of the new vehicles are nice, but a few are basically alien remakes of human vehicles that do the exact same thing. The same can be said for most of the new weapons, although the lock feature on the rocket launcher is a nice new addition. Some of the new enemies are awesome, like the flying insect things, but in the end it's all wasted and it just becomes yet another Flood killing thing, with hordes of the same enemies over and over again in several remarkably similar rooms. Multiplayer still rocks, but once again offers nothing particularly new, and has even had the unlimited grenades option removed which is one of the reasons Halo 1 was so fun in multiplayer. The character customization feature's pretty cool, so is the logo idea, but it's superfluous to gameplay anyway except maybe for the camoflage. The campaign has a few semi-unique levels at the beginning (like the highway one in a tank), and the alien twist is something different, but ultimately reminds me too much of any other linear FPS with big guns and hordes of enemies.
In my opinion I enjoyed Metroid Prime 1 more than I did Halo 2, which almost definately says to me that Metroid Prime 2 will shit all over it. Please note, before I get the proverbials flamed off me I'll just say that this entire post is opinionated and therefore niether correct or incorrect.
"Ok duders, Gamecube is a piece of crap anyway. Metroid 2 doesn't look bad, but it ain't got nothin' on Halo2, 'nuff said Kekethxbai"
I refer you to the previous assertation that anyone who thinks that hardware is a determining factor in the quality of a game is a douchebag fanboy.
I hope in Prime 2 they don't put too many characters in, the feeling of lonely adventuring in Metroid Prime was one of the best things about the game. If you put too many characters in, it's just a futuristic Zelda game.
as far as im aware, unless you unlock it or whatever, i can only have 2 types of vehicles on multiplayer levels (primary and secondary). unless some levels just have more, for some reason...
thing i like about Halo 2 which i doubt Prime 2 will have; Co-op.
