Nuklear, Billybob, please stop promoting your games in this thread; they're all extremely poor examples of what can be achieved with MMF. Seriously Rezza, the best game to start MMF with, is as suggested earlier, a platformer. They're pretty easy to do with the inbuilt movement, although over time you'll want to learn how to create a platform engine yourself and give yourself more flexability. In addition, you might want to try making a basic Robotron type of game. They're a little more difficult to do (you might find sidestepping hard).

i would say a top down shooter or a platform. my first game was a top down shooter.
then i did a platform, both are a good starting place!

Tip: Don't make an impressive engine that does all sorts of cool things (Headshots, location specific damage, AI that calls for help, etc.) and put some crappy GFX in, cause all the cool stuff will be lost on these people. Trust me, I know.
