My computer just reboots itself sometimes and I don’t know why. I thought it might be a virus. I checked my computer with AntiVir Guard, Trend Micro Housecall, Ad-Aware and Spyware Doctor and couldn’t find anything at all. So does anybody know a virus that could cause that/a virus scanner that could fix that OR the reason for that? Could it be a damaged hard drive. It’s a SATA hard drive and only 5 month old but I think it makes some odd noise sometimes. I don’t know so I am asking you.

Do you not get any form of error message? Random reboots are caused by overheating components amongst other things. If you're overclocking you should revert. If you're not overclocking, check your fans and such like, make sure they're all working.
I'd say if the hard drive were damaged your PC wouldn't work at all. Do you have any reason to think that it's damaged? (apart from the noise, sometimes I get that from my external one and it's fine)
oh yeh that could probably be the reason. i dont get an error message at all. i am using an AMD which can be overclocked but I am not overclocking at all but I guess my coolers are shit and it got pretty hot lately. I will check that

What exactly do I have to look for? What is written there and what will tell me that it overheated

Same thing. What should it say. I am not sure if I exactly know what I should I should see there/what is good to see in the bios motherboard temp
I think the bios usually tells you the heat of the processor. I don't know if you can find out that information in windows somewhere. I think the bios tell you the rpm of the fans so if one is broken you'll know.
I'm not too sure whether the bios will tell you much.
Okay this time I was just using MMF and WinAmp and NOT on the Internet at all (disconnected) and my computer suddenly froze/the music sounded like a broken record and repeated the last second that had just played over and over again so I had to reboot it..
I also have to say I am using a VERY old 15 inch screen since some company is fixing my other screen for about 5 weeks already. Probably it’s the old screen’s fault?
I checked my cooling under H/W Monitor in my Phoenix-Award Bios and I turned the Smart CPU and Smart NB Fan on (both were disabled). I set those to 50°C/122°F.
My Current System Temperature was 42°C/107°F
Current CPU Temperature was 68°C/158°F
NB Fan Speed 4720 RDM
CPU Fan Speed 3879 RDM
Is that all okay or fucking to hot or anything else?
Any case nobody has a clue does anybody at least know some other forum I could ask at? Ha well I hope you people can help me since it gets very very annoying when your computer just shuts down/freezes while working on a game.

so the temperatur is fine? i have got big noise-mats inside my computer so i can imagine it gets hotter inside there than without those noise-damming-mats but you read how hot it gets
I had loads of problem when I installed my first SATA drive and wanted to have it as my C: with windows and all that on it. Windows keept freezing, crashing and also the harddrive even formated itself once.
I had to reinstall windows and in the installation when it says press F6, I had to press it and insert a floppy disk with some drivers I got of the manufacturers site and install them. After that when I actually got into windows I updated my bios and that really helped me. Before it had problems detecting the SATA drive on boot-up but that's all gone now.
So you could try updating your bios, there's usually some kind of auto updater app on your motherboard manufacturer cd.
I'm using American Megatrends Inc v.1003.004 according to my probe program. But it is simply the bios my auto BIOS updater got for me, I have an ASUS motherboard btw.
But if you have an auto updater application I'm sure it'll get the right bios for your computer.
Your CPU temp is pretty high, nearly 70°C, it may be overheating.
Alternatively maybe your power supply isn't up to the job. If you're running a lot of components off a low wattage power supply unit, it won't be able to handle the load at peaks and may cut out. Or, it might just be faulty and can't keep power running very well.
yeah 68°C is very high for an idle temperature (did you take those bios readings just after you turned the pc on?)... I'd check that out. I don't know too about the fan speeds, but you might have to give the heatsink a good clean (it might be clogged up if it's quite an old pc), or oil the bearings in the fan.
