Hi folks! I've been busy with my computer games technology course at manchester metropolitan university in england. First term was excellent, shame the only game we made was a text-based adventure game. At least i know what it feels like to make a proper game and have a deadline (me and my friend were bug-testing till the last hour till hand in ).

Game making sure is hard work. I still havent really finished any games with MMF... I dunno, maybe I should just make a game where a ball bounces on the screen or something?! Or set my goals lower?

Do people still like 2d platform games and fighting games? I guess I could have another stab at that. Or RPGs?

Hi Circy, Shab, Wong, Pete and everyone else! Sorry I haven't spoken in a while!

When is MMF2's official release date? I was wondering, because MMF's layout took me like a year to get used to

Anyway, whatever project I make next, I hope to 'finish' it. Thanks for reading! Merry Xmas!

I had a hard time making a hangman game at college but ive made loads with The games factory. It's much easier.

people will always love the 2d platformer and fighters,
i'm attempting an rpg too, top down action.

Yeah, MMF's interface is a pain in the ass. But, I've got used to it now. I think i'll take a stab at making a RPG. Thanks for commenting

Well, hello there.

I'm attempting an RPG too, but not in MMF because MMF doesn't have the nice option of objects with properties (not in the MMF meaning).

I AM making a Final Fantasy based battle system in MMF, as a test and an example for you REAL MMF RPG-creating people.

"Hello mister guy that made those thousand crappy high voltage tests."

Hello lol

My old self would probably have exploded. But It doesn't bother me at all anymore

I really pity people that regard the past as a way to downtalk people and make them feel low. It's happened a fair few times in my life

So anyway, My RPG has started quite well. I have the first battle done, as well as the level up + stat increases. I hope to continue this project for quite a while, and finally get it finished!

"Hello mister guy that made those thousand crappy high voltage tests. O_O"

This coming from someone who submits garbage to this website (almost half, maybe over 50%, of his stuff has recieved a rating of below 50%).

Gabe Scholz, thanks for your intentions, but Phizzy is somewhat a god here, and it wouldnt be wise to go insulting him

Besides, as much as the 'thousand' bit was exaggerated... the rest is sadly true. I did make a few too many tests.

Everyone makes a crap game at one point in time. You have to learn from it and move on. So 50% are bad games, what if the other 50% are pure gold?

Uhh, Hi. I'm kinda new here (i've been registered for almost 6 months), but i've been using MMF for over 6 years (I started when I was 7).

Clickteam STILL hasn't posted the release date for MMF2, but last I checked they were estimating late January or early February, don't get your hopes too high, this is about their 7th estimate.

Phizzy is awesome.

Also i'd like to see that battle engine. I'm still working on my own which will be a turn based final fantasy-esque style. Not with an active time battle but turn based.

It's getting all the animations and menus and stuff that i'm always having trouble with because the party is going to be changable with at least 6 different characters. only 3 at once though.

late January or early February eh? doesnt sound too bad. Either way, if it isnt here, I guess they can keep bug-testing or whatever they are doing

6 years of MMF! Thats a whole lot of experience!

AndyUK, you'd like to see my battle engine? Well, here is the URL;

http://www.sitesled.com/members/alexfili/installHV.exe

So far the game has 2 battles. You can use physical attacks or shoot energy. Because its an RPG, you level up and get 'stat-points' that you can use to upgrade your character. They work fine, and the game recognizes them perfectly, though it doesnt do much good, since I have only done 2 battles so far

The reason the file is a bit big is because of the MP3s, but personally I think a few seconds wait is worth it rather then listening to the same Midi file over and over. NOTE: DO NOT MOVE THE DIRECTORY OR CHANGE ITS NAME OR YOU WILL UPSET THE GAME'S MP3 PLAYABILITY

If you could tell me what you think of it I would be greatful!

Here's a little tip: Do NEVER use installers when it's a demo... I've tested a game which had a new installer for every version, it left a fucking mess..

Oh yeah, I guess it would do that, sorry. But I need it because of the mp3 locations. I'll think of a way to work around it...

I fixed the problem, now you can have the MP3s in any folder you like, as long as you enter it into the game's edit box. Oh yeah, it will remember where the folder was for next time as well, so you only need put it in once.
