I just went to watch this film and enjoyed it alot so. Some of the CGI was nice and I found areas of the film quite amusing. The stunts were original but Keira knightley still looks man-like.Being crazy about fish, it was also nice to see the enemie pirates as half-aquatic monster-people.Also...
She's not "man-like". She's fairly androgynous I grant you that, but she's actually very beautiful. I imagine your kind of woman has 33DD breasts, peroxide blonde hair and lips like Leslie Ash.
Peblo said it did on msn. In away hes right, it does go all over the place and alot of it is silly, but its still entertaining IMO and its still important, introducing Davy Jones etc.
I don't know what's wrong with you, Adam, Keira Knightly is very hot.
I just saw it. ^^ I liked it alot; the action was intense, and it was funny. That being said, though, I have a complaint: the movie was less story driven, I thought. It felt like, in this movie, that all the monsters felt cheaper some how, than the skeletons of the last film. The movie was more scary monsters for the sake of scary monsters.
You shouldn't go here, there are crazy swedes who mumble about cucumbers:

Its cos theyre made to look wet. Sometimez wetness can be tricky to acheive with cgi I belive. The Kraken looks crap IMO but itz still big and sexy lol!
ACTUALLY THE KRAKEN IS MORE WOMANLY THAT KEIRA KNIGHTLY LOL
Maybe she looked more mainly because she was dress up like one? I only wished the movie had some sense of ending. I know there's going to be a 3rd one, but the main reason I liked the first one more is because the ending was better. I also agree the first ones story was better only because it was completed without me having to wait another year to see it happen. All in all though I still enjoyed the movie and would watch it again. Did anyone noticed that they tried to be too funny? Jack the man and who still is became a little more goofy at times than before.
I was really unimpressed by the movie. I work at a theatre and I almost walked out on it. I wasn't out any money, but it's 160 minutes of my life I won't get back. On the whole, I compare it to the second Matrix movie. New plotlines are opened and never closed, characters don't develop, the simplicity of the first movie is lost, and all of the scenes seem stretched out longer than they need to be. As with the Matrix movies, they should've made a single 3 hour sequel rather than a pair of 2 1/2 hour sequels. They could've easily cut out a full hour of the movie and none of the substance would've been lost. It seems like they just wanted to whore out the franchise for as much money as they could instead of making a good movie. And money it will make... we had 16 showings of it today and all of them sold out.
On a positive note, Kiera Knightley is still fine as hell. If Adam thinks she is manlike he should go screw a unicorn, because the chances of finding a more attractive woman are equally realistic.
The film was made simply to promote a ride at Disneyland.
@Adam: What's the point of having a movie simply to open more plotlines for the third? That's the problem with these endless sequels, they think too far ahead. They should have made the second, saw the reaction and then decided to make a third.
LMAO yes, let’s make a huge blockbuster to promote one of our oldest rides, which happens to be very different from the film indeed. Disney rides often have stories behind them, they don’t just say oh lets make a pirate ride and put a load of pirates in it. It’s like the haunted mansion ride, yes the film was turd, but the actual ride has loads of history and many different conceptual stories behind it, from which they could have actually made a good film if they didn’t aim it at the kids so much.
I was just looking through google images for some hot keira knightley evidence when I found this page

This guy seems to think Keira is Elisha Cuthbert
It was quite good, too long and too many unresolved plot threads, but there was enough of a character journey to justify it as a standalon film. Better than X-Men 3 and Superman Returns.
I saw the movie at a midnight viewing with some of my buddies just a few nights ago. I thought it was really good, but the ending kind of leaves you hanging...
Johnny Depp's boozy, woozy buccaneer Jack Sparrow has plundered the box office, with "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" taking in a record $132 million in its first three days, according to studio estimates Sunday.
I saw it today, and was really impressed. Bloom is still a hopeless actor though. They should've waited for the kraken to break the ship in half and then drop the casks into its mouth, cause blowing it up in the air would've just pissed it off and covered the whole ship in burning rum. Also they stole the coffin thing from Tintin and Fett always escapes from the sarlacc.
I didn't think it was a bad movie.
Wasn't as good as the first, but it was still pretty good. And you people saying that they only made this film for money rather than trying to make a good film - that's pretty much the point. A lot of companies/directors don't make films for credit or respect or anything, they probably expect a lot of money in return. Was the same with the Matrix - the third film will probably be better than the second film.
I saw some of the first movie on the 100 top family films last night, and comparing the evil pirates in one and two, it looks like they spent a little more time on them in the first to be honest. I still like how they have all coral, urchins, anenomes and crap growing outta them though!
I liked this one more than the first to be honest.
And I don't know what you're talking about DD; the bad guys in the first one were just variations on the same skeleton with different bits of shit hanging off it, but there was at least one new fishguy in nearly every scene with them in this one and they were definetly better modelled.
