1) The time frame is from Saturday, August 11 at Noon EST, to Sunday, August 12 at 11:59pm EST (please convert the times to your local timezone). This gives you a smidge under 36 hours to complete your entry. For this competition, exceptions will not be made, and all entries need to be posted in this topic by 11:59pm EST.
2) Scoring / Reviews will be done by each entrant in the competition. You must give a score to each game other than your own. You'll have an additional 48 hours after competition close to write your reviews. Though I hope some will go into detail, the minimum required from each perosn will be a score from 1-10 for each game, with at least one comment per game. Please take the theme and completeness into consideration when scoring. Speaking of which:
3) Theme. The theme for this competition will be revealed at noon on August 11th. It will be chosen at random to prevent individuals from starting to work on their games early (though there is no absolute way to get aroudn this). It could be a word (i.e. Paradox), or maybe just a special constraint that you'll have to take into account. I'll try to make it as broad as possible, while still providing some direction / creativeness.
That's it for the rules. Let us know if you'll be participating below, and if you have any questions or suggestions, just pop in a reply. I'll be the first - I'm in!

36 hours starting saturday? I'll have like 12 hours to make a game. Sounds challenging, I'm in.

So it starts at 7.00am Saturday morning and ends 7.00pm Sunday evening GMT. I won't be able to enter really, although I suppose I have got all day Sunday to do it (so that's 8-9 hours realistically).
@Sephirenn: "Welcome to the first in a series of "Difinitive" competitions! " - maybe you should spell it right at least, it's "definitive".
Haha, Matt - Yea, maybe one of the more spelling-sensitive admins could change that. Go on Circy, I know you're thinking of it
I'm at home for a total of 4 hours this weekend. So, count me in! I'm going to start working on an online moose fighting engine, just in case the chosen theme is online moose fighting. Always one step ahead!
