Damn I miss those games. Anyone know if they work in XP?

I don't see why they wouldn't. I still have no problem playing all these older games on Vista, so they should work on XP too.

I'm looking forward to http://www.cuplanet.com/ -- I really hope it would get finished some day, looks very promising. For me SC 4 became more enjoyable when I got the add-on pack and thus the missions. Then again after a while the missions did get very boring and didn't make game's life span that much longer. A good city simulation preferably with an extensive control over the public transport networks would be a winner in my books (got frustrated with Mobility, too, because of its many limitations)

I even followed tutorials on SC4 and still my city would be losing money. I don't understand it at all.

Too hard. HM!

Whaat? SC4 is the easiest of all the SimCities, IMHO. The only difficulty is in making a perfect city. If you don't want to lose money, don't make police, hospitals, fire depts, schools, etc. Use coal plants.

Alternatively, if you really don't want a challenge, make a neighboring city to stuff all the dirty industries and power plants, then connect it to your residential city.

Oh, I designed a few cities for my futuristic-style game. I actually took a map from one of my old fantasy games (too bad SC4 didn't have deserts and swamps) and built a nice city using the old fantasy cities.. the 'forge city' evolved nicely into the industrial capital in SC4, all those 'elven villages' became farming places. The only problem was doing the capital city. It was designed to be this elite place with an oppressive police force and stuff, which wasn't the hard part. The hard part was trying to simulate a 'walled castle' in SC4, which I did with only railroads. SC4 should have walls and castles, a lot like some of the medieval towns in Germany and Europe.

Not sure where I put that map, I did it about 4 years ago, backed it up somewhere before formatting my comp. It was good fun

I never liked Sim City 4000. It felt too "The Sims"-ish. A game which I just don't want to go near. Really do like SC3K, one of my fave PC games. yea.

Hey, what's wrong with the Sims? If you play it the way it's not supposed to be played, it's good fun. In the Sims 2, I made a castle on top of a hill, with a rich criminal mastermind who makes self-replicating robot slaves who even 'forced' the city mayor to work in his evil robot factory. Without cheating

My lazy-*** brother was even more amusing. He and my little sis both created a character in the same house. My sis was obsessed with money (like IRL) and took jobs since the start of the game. My bro wanted to hang around before he got a job, so he bought a TV, computer, etc (using the girl's hard earned money), but was never happy enough to get a job. He messed up the sinks and showers and never cleaned the dishes, telling my sis's character to do it. Then he cooked (badly), ate rotten food and got sick. He even left all the unwashed dishes outside the room because 'they were making the room ugly' (something he also does IRL). He never did get a job. My sis's character remained happy throughout the game despite being bullied. Lol, I use that story to remind him everytime that if he just cleaned his own dishes, he'd be happier and more girls would like him
